CSQ publishes original work in cognitive science for an international audience, across the whole discipline, and at any level of analysis. In particular, CSQ is looking for:
  • Articles that attempt an integration of methodologies and disciplines,
  • Applied articles which foster theoretical developments and treatments of basic research which point to applications in the real world,
  • Work which crosses levels of abstraction.
The bottom line is that CSQ intends to publish original work of high quality relevant to cognitive science as a whole. Articles may address any topic in cognitive science, e.g.,
  • Learning and adaptation

    A Fyssen Foundation Symposium
Edited by Stanislas Dehaene Marc D. Hauser and Giacomo Rizzolatti
The extraordinary overlap between human and chimpanzee genomes does not result in an equal overlap between human and chimpanzee thoughts, sensations, perceptions, and emotions; there are considerable similarities but also considerable differences between human and nonhuman primate brains. From Monkey Brain to Human Brain uses the latest findings in cognitive psychology, comparative biology, and neuroscience to look at the complex patterns of convergence and divergence in primate cortical organization and function. table of contents Ways of Seeing - The scope and limits of visual cognition Claude Bernard, Lyon, France Series: Oxford Cognitive Science Series A rare interdisciplinary collaboration between a philosopher and a neuroscientist. Presents a unique study of the human visual system

2004, April 1718, Schaumburg, Illinois, USA. Regional artificial intelligence and cognitive science conference. submission deadline TBA.
http://www.maics.us/
The Midwest Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science Conference
The MAICS conference is a regional conference that accepts papers from all areas of artificial intelligence and cognitive science, including computational linguistics, logic and automated reasoning, knowledge representation, learning and philosophy of mind. Graduate students and junior faculty are especially encouraged to submit papers. The broad range of topics together with the fact that usually only about 20 to 30 submitted papers are accepted, which are mixed with presentations by well known scientists, make the MAICS conference a very special event that has served as a first time presentation opportunity for many graduate students and has attracted international participants.
Upcoming MAICS Conferences
The 16th Midwest Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science Conference, MAICS 2005, will be on April 16 and 17 2005. The conference will be hosted by: The Department of Computer Science at the University of Dayton. For information on the upcoming MAICS 2005 conference please see the newly updated registration, schedule and venue pages.
