73. Gnostic Institute Of Anthropology
A group of Gnostic schools in New York. Offers correspondence course, lectures, and links.
http://www.gnosisny.org/
The Gnostic Institute of Anthropology 2005 USA National Gnostic Convention has ended and was truly a success. It was held in Saratoga Springs, New York, at Longfellows Inn and Conference Center. The theme of this Convention was based on local Native American wisdom centered around the Philosophy of the Iroquois in the light of Gnosis. We have some wonderful photos of the event here.
The word Gnosis is a Greek word meaning ultimate knowledge , obtained by direct inner experience. Gnosis is the perennial philosophy that enlightened Jesus, Mohammed, Krishna, Buddha, Hermes, Pythagoras, Moses, Socrates, Orpheus, Quetzalcoatl, etc. Gnosis has been expressed in many forms in different civilizations, through a variety of symbols and structures. Nonetheless, beyond this illusory veil of differences exists the Golden Thread that is Gnosis - the pure universal expression of Love and Wisdom. Gnosis is the path of self realization through experience. With the awakening of higher consciousness, we can obtain direct experience of our inner Truth. The Gnostic teachings are based on four pillars of study: Science, Art, Philosophy, and Mysticism/Religion and consist of a wide variety of esoteric disciplines, all of which are presented in a very practical way. Practices are given to the students by Gnostic Instructors to verify what is learned, so that the knowledge can be experienced directly. We study and practice many subjects such as: Meditation, Gnostic Psychology, Dream Yoga, Subtle Anatomy of the Human, Hermetic Astrology, Medieval Alchemy, etc.

75. Department Of Sociology And Anthropology - College Of Arts And Sciences - Seton
Sociology and anthropology (South Orange, NJ)
http://artsci.shu.edu/soc-anth/
Welcome!
"Katrina Interpreted" - September 22 @ 2:30
more...
Our Sociology and Anthropology programs are designed to provide students with the tools to analyze, critically evaluate, and understand pressing global and domestic concerns and use that knowledge for the betterment of society. Both Sociology and Anthropology make connections between how we understand ourselves and interact with others. Sociology cultivates the sociological imagination in students, enabling them to see the links between social structures and personal problems. Anthropology concerns itself with the entire range of human activities and cultures, preparing students to understand their place in an increasingly global, pluralistic, and multicultural world. With an eye towards affecting change, both disciplines look behind the scenes to identify social forces that shape behavior and perceptions. Whether in regard to urban social issues, inter-group relations, social institutions, health, gender, sexual, racial, organizational, environmental and indigenous cultural concerns, our goal is to provide students with the ability to both understand and to act on their knowledge.

76. The Anthropological Index Of The Royal Anthropological Institute

http://aio.anthropology.org.uk/aio/AIO.html
The Anthropological Index of the Royal Anthropological Institute
The Anthropological Index Online has been made available with the financial support of the William Buller Fagg Charitable Trust and the practical support of CSAC at UKC.
The Anthropological Index Online. The Anthropological Index Online is based on the journal holdings of The Anthropology Library at the The British Museum (formerly Museum of Mankind) which receives periodicals in all branches of anthropology, from academic institutions and publishers around the world. The data is (c) RAI and use is permitted for educational non-commercial purposes (including private study). Regular or heavy educational/academic use is licensed by the payment of a subscription. Commercial institutions wishing to use Anthropological Index Online are asked to contact the RAI to arrange access. Detail of conditions of use and Quick Search of AIO Full search of AIO - longer form - more options During 2000 and early 2001 a retrospective conversion was undertaken which has added some 100,000 records going back to 1957. These were originally published on paper as vols 1-32 of the Anthropological Index. As part of this work we have modified the existing data to enable searching by the language of the article.
The retrospective conversion has been enabled by grants to the Royal Anthropological Institute from the Getty Foundation, ESRC (UK), the Mellon Trust, the Pilgrim Trust and the Marsh Christian Trust for which we are extremely grateful. The main work of the conversion was undertaken by the UK Higher Education Digitisation service (HEDS).
