We know little of Zenodorus 's life but he is mentioned in the Arabic translation of Diocles On burning mirrors where it is stated [3]:- And when Zenodorus the astronomer came down to Arcadia and was introduced to us, he asked us how to find a mirror surface such that when it is placed facing the sun the rays reflected from it meet a point and thus cause burning. Toomer notes that his translation of 'when Zenodorus the astronomer came down to Arcadia and was introduced to us' could, perhaps, be translated 'when Zenodorus the astronomer came down to Arcadia and was appointed to a teaching position there'.
Before the discovery of the Arabic text of Diocles On burning mirrors, Zenodorus was known to us mainly because of references to his treatise On isometric figures which is lost. There is another interesting source of information however. When Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, Herculaneum together with Pompeii and Stabiae, was destroyed. Herculaneum was buried by a compact mass of material about 16 metres deep which preserved the city until excavations began in the 18 th century. Special conditions of humidity of the ground conserved wood, cloth, food, and in particular many papyri.

Body length 6mm We can easily find this small Jumping Spiders on gum and wattle tree trunks. They are always facing downwards, seems waiting for something. With some observations, we find that they prey on different species of ants. They wait and target for the ants where those ants are also walking up and down on the tree trunk. The spider shiny black or dark brown, with a white line circle the edge of its abdomen. Some with a white dot at the centre. This Jumping Spiders are ant-hunters which specifically targeting on ants. We saw the spiders feeding on different species of ants many times.

This page contains pictures and information about Acacia Planthoppers that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia Body length 9mm This species of planthoppers are a bit smaller in size than the Platybrachys that we found. They are brown in colour with red abdomen. The brown colours vary from pale brown to dark brown amount individual, but their patterns on wings are about the same. We found them in Karawatha Park in early summer. Karawatha Park is a Eucalyptus forest with different species of gum trees and wattle trees. We found this planthopper on two different species of wattle trees. Once we recognized their host plants, they are not difficult to found. Group of them can be found on the same plants. We notice that some of them rested on stems with broken bark, where may be easier for them to feed. However, we are not sure if those broken bark are the result of their feeding or damaged by other animals. We found one of the planthoppers had the white marking on each wing.
