Coach Douglass is 498-225 overall and 122-107 at the helm of the Anteaters, who finished 16-13 overall last season. He has led UCI to 93 wins over the past five seasons. The Anteaters won the school's first-ever conference title in 2000-01 with a 15-1 record and entered the Big West Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed for the first time. For his efforts, Douglass was selected as 2001 Big West Conference Coach of the Year by his peers. The Anteaters advanced to the 2001 NIT, losing 75-71 on the road to Tulsa, the eventual NIT champion. Douglass was selected District 15 Coach of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and also was named the 2000-01 National Coach of the Year for mid-major schools by College Hoops Insider.

SportsLine.com wire reports
BOISE, Idaho Pacific coach Bob Thomason described the Tigers' first half against Pittsburgh as nearly perfect. The second half? Well, it was good enough. The Tigers held off the Panthers 79-71 Thursday to advance in the Albuquerque Regional after letting a 15-point halftime lead dwindle to five in the final few minutes. "I just thought we played a sensational first half," Thomason said. The Tigers advanced to the second round for the second consecutive year by surviving several scares at the end. "Being here last year and knowing what it takes to get a victory definitely helped this team. Hopefully it will help us in the next round on Saturday," said David Doubley, who scored 11 of his 17 in the second half for Pacific. Advertisement Webb hadn't scored more than 10 points since transferring from Antelope Valley College, but topped that by halftime after going 4-for-4 from 3-point range.

Under the guidance of Thomason, Pacific finished 27-4 this season, which included a perfect 18-0 mark in the Big West Conference. Both win totals established new school records.
Pacific, which also ran off a school-record 22-game winning streak (Dec. 21-Mar. 11), earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and posted a first-round victory over Pittsburgh. It marked the second straight season that the Tigers had beaten a team from the Big East conference in the NCAA tournament (beat Providence in 2004).
A 1971 Pacific graduate, Thomason played on teams that were 17-9, 21-6 and 22-6 in 1968-69, 1969-70 and 1970-71, respectively. The 1970-71 club with teammates John Gianelli and Jim McCargo, advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Thomason is a visible link between Pacific's past glory and its present success.

65. Coach Magarity's The VERY Round Table
bob thomason That should be a part of college basketball. bob thomason Ithink the key is to get your seniors to run through the finish line.
http://www.collegeinsider.com/portly/madness1.html
MARCH MADNESS (Part I) The response to the first edition of The VERY Round Table was tremendous. I thought it would be both a fun and informative feature, but I did not expect it to be so well received. But that just goes to show you what you can accomplish when you throw your weight around.
I am somewhat concerned that Rider head coach, Don Harnum has been very amused by the title of ?VERY? Round Table. He suggested to CollegeInsider.com that my features only run on Tuesday?s and be renamed ?Fat Tuesday?s with Magarity.? Obviously Mr. ?MAAC Daddy? has been eating more spinach than normal. I look forward to visiting with him at the MAAC tournament in Buffalo, this weekend.
No major surprises from the Academy Awards. It was great to see Jamie Foxx win for his portrayal of Ray Charles. If you haven?t seen ?Ray,? make it a point to go out and buy the DVD. It was a very insightful and very entertaining film. On another movie note, John Travolta is starring in a new film, titled ?Be Cool.? It?s a sequel to the movie, ?Get Shorty,? starring Southwest Missouri State head coach Barry Hinson.
Very soon I will be sitting down with Lute Olson, and two of his former assistants, to discuss the Arizona Experience at The VERY Round Table. Oregon State?s Jay John and San Francisco?s Jessie Evans, who have done outstanding jobs since leaving UofA, will join the discussion. Look for this feature shortly.

His experience, knowledge, passion and work ethic have made him an excellent addition to the Cabrillo College Athletic Department and an invaluable asset to the men that he coaches.
2004-2005 Season Recap
2004-2005 marked one of the Cabrillo program's best seasons in a long time. Cabrillo's 17 victories are the team's most wins in Head Coach Tony Marcopulos' 5 seasons at the helm. Cabrillo's winning percentage has improved in each of those 5 seasons. For the 2nd time in 3 years the Cabrillo College Seahawks played in NorCal Regional finals, where this season they lost to top-ranked and eventual undefeated state champion Fresno City College. The Seahawks finished the regular season ranked #10 in Northern California and 20th in the state. Cabrillo finished 3rd in the extremely competitive Coast Conference South.

An accounting firm partly owned by a high-ranking official and former campaign worker of Gov. Linda Lingle has performed $611,573 in work for Lingle and other Republicans. Legislators and Campaign Spending Commission Executive Director Bob Watada have raised concerns because Thomason's department has administrative control over the spending commission. At the same time, the spending commission has to rule on procedures followed by candidates who use Thomason's firm. Thomason has also testified about changes to campaign spending laws. Thomason, Lingle and other administration officials said Thomason has done nothing wrong and do not see a conflict. "I didn't take advantage of my position in any way, shape or form, and there is nothing that shows that I have," Thomason said. But Sen. Colleen Hanabusa (D, Nanakuli-Makua), chairwoman of the Judiciary Committee, said Thomason's relationship with her company, the Campaign Spending Commission and political campaigns creates a potential conflict. "If the company continues to do campaign-related work and she has a relationship with the Campaign Spending Commission and her own company doing campaign spending work, there is definitely the appearance of impropriety," Hanabusa said.
