"The Bible"
Description of the Art Work
The sacred scriptures of Judaism and Christianity, divided into three sections:The Hebrew Bible or Old Testament is canonical to both Jews and Christians; the Intertestamental literature including what is sometimes called Apocrypha; and the New Testament cannonical in Christianity only. The Bible contains religious ideas shared by both Jews and Christians. The one called God, the Creator of all that exists. The unity of all mankind; a Convenant people to serve God's will toward all nations; the individual's sacred right to be protected from abuse, exploitation or neglect by the rich and powerful or by society itself; and the future as God's time in which his rule will be fully established.
Description of incident
553 Italy-Rome : Emperor Justinian issued a decree commanding exclusive use of the Greek and Latin version of the "Bible" and forbidding the "Midrash", but accepting the Hebrew exposition of the Old Testament. 1409 England : The Synod of Canterbury at St.Paul's, London, issued a decree forbidding the translation of the Scripture from one tongue to another, and the reading of a translation later than that of John Wycliffe under penalty of excommunication, unless special license be obtained.

Biographical Sketch
Scott's first novel, Johnnie Sahib Alien Sky , published in 1953. India had penetrated Scott's heart deeply; most of his novels are set in India, or use India as a backdrop, as in A Male Child The Mark of the Warrior (1958), and The Chinese Love Pavilion The Alien Sky aired on B.B.C. television in London in 1956. The Birds of Paradise (1962) continued Scott's preoccupation with India, whereas The Bender (1963) is set solely in London and explores the importance of work in defining one's role in life and in society. (1964) uses fragments of the life story of a novelist, Edward Thornhill, to piece together the artist's world of the creative imagination in which illusion and fact often vie with each other. Scott returned to India in 1964 and from that visit came the raw material he needed to write his next five novels, all of which centered on the end of British rule in India. The first four novels

Aerial Torpedo.

The Aerial Torpedo was introduced in the 1909 film The Airship Destroyer . An unknown country arms their zeppelins with bombs and launches an air raid on England. After a bombing raid British aircraft engage the zeppelins but are shot down. The bombing raid continues until finally a patriotic British inventor creates an "aerial torpedo," controlled by "wireless electricity," which he uses to bring down the enemy air fleet. A quickie about a zeppelin raid. The model work was very obvious. To quote from a movie list:"Inspired by Wells, this is one of the first real science fiction films to be made in England. The story concerns an attack on London by a fleet of airships from an unknown country. Through the extensive use of models, buildings were wrecked, prototype tanks destroyed, and railroads blown up. However, the films young hero, an inventor, launches radio controlled aerial torpedoes at the airships, and saves the day." The film was a great success, and was directed by Walter Booth, produced by Charles Urban. There were 2 sequels to this film "The Pirates of 1920" (1911) and "The Aerial Anarchists (1911).

The Regent conquers, and the Frenchmen fly.
Now help, ye charming spells and periapts;
And ye choice spirits that admonish me,
And give me signs of future accidents.
Thunder You speedy helpers, that are substitutes
Under the lordly monarch of the north,
Appear and aid me in this enterprise.
Enter Fiends This speedy and quick appearance argues proof
of your accustomed diligence to me.
Now, ye familiar spirits, that are culled Out of the powerful regions under earth, Help me this once, that France may get the field. They walk, and speak not O, hold me not with silence over-long! Where I was wont to feed you with my blood, I'll lop a member off and give it you In earnest of a further benefit, So you do condescend to help me now. They hang their heads No hope to have redress? My body shall Pay recompense, if you will grant my suit.

Roger Spottiswoode continues his flair for versatility with The 6th Day Interview By Steve Ramos Roger Spottiswoode
The Internet gossip began immediately after The 6th Day, Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest blockbuster, began production. There were news reports of on-set difficulties and script turmoil. It was something director Roger Spottiswoode had experienced before. Spottiswoode is best known for the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. In fact, the box-office success of that film earned Spottiswoode his 6th Day assignment. You would think the British-born director would be accustomed to the endless muckraking. He remembers how cyber-gossip surrounded his every move during the making of Tomorrow Never Dies. This time, Schwarzenegger is the focal point, Spottiswoode remains perturbed at the Internet disinformation.
