A: Alle Familienmitglieder arbeiteten im medizinischen Bereich und spielten nebenher Volksmusikinstrumente. Mein Vater spielte Mandoline, Balalaika und Bajan, mein älterer Bruder begann mit einem diatonischen Akkordeon und spielte später ebenfalls Bajan. Schon im Alter von drei Jahren spielte ich auf der „Bubna" (ukrainisches Volksmusikinstrument) im „Familientrio" mit. F: Warum haben Sie sich für das Akkordeon und nicht für ein anderes Instrument entschieden? A: Mein Vater spielte Bajan, es war sein Lieblingsinstrument, und mein Vater war für mich eine große Autorität. Außerdem war das Bajan das beliebteste und am einfachsten zu bekommende Instrument in der Stadt, in der wir lebten.
