Description of the Flag
This flag was introduced by Royal resolution of 21 November 1898. The emblem was changed to a new one in 1939 and the version of the flag charged with that new emblem is still in use. Christian Fogd Pedersen notes that the post ensign is only used by vessels actually carrying mail. When they are not, they do not have the right to fly the ensign. He also notes that the flag is used on land by postal authorities. One interesting fact mentioned by Pedersen is that only larger mail carrying vessels use the swallow-tailed post flag. Smaller boats use a rectangular ensign with the emblem in the canton.
Jan Oskar Engene 15 January 2001
Flaggenbuch notes 'Cable ships of the Post and Telegraph Administration and the postal ships over 20 BRT. In the latter case, civil ensign with this emblem.'

ONLY EMIL KNOWS WHY Watch out "Dear Abby", here comes Emil Lapin!
(Author's Note: Remy, Jean-Luc, Tante Mattie and Emil all belong to Marvel. "Only God Knows Why" belongs to Kid Rock and/or whoever wrote it. The point is, none of it belongs to me except the story idea, so please don't sue. Merci beaucoup! Oh and PS: The story itself doesn't deserve to be rated R but because of the one really bad word and one semi-bad word in the song, I felt it necessary….)
"I've been sittin' here Tryin' to find myself I get behind myself I need to rewind myself Lookin for the payback Listen for the playback They say that every man bleeds just like me And now I feel like number one Yet I'm last in line I watch my younger son And it helps to pass the time I take too many pills it helps to ease the pain I made a couple of dollar bills still I feel the same Everybody knows my name They say it way too loud A lot of folks fuck me It's hard to hang out in crowds I guess that's the price you pay To be some big shot like I am Outskirt stands and one night stands Still I can't find love
And when your walls come tumbling down I will always be around
And when your walls come tumbling down I will always be around
People don't know about the things I say and do They don't understand about the shit that I've been through It's been so long since I've been home I've been gone.... I've been gone for way too long Maybe I forgot all things I miss Oh somehow I know there's more to life than this I said it too many times And I still stand firm You get what you put in And people get what they deserve Still I ain't seen mine No I ain't seen mine I've been giving just ain't been gettin' I've been walking down that line So I think I'll keep on walking With my head held high I'll keep moving on and only God knows why Only God.....only God Only God knows why Only God....knows....why why why only God knows why Take me to the rivers...edge Take me to the river...hey hey hey…"

His real name was not Nolde but Hansen; his parents were Frisian peasants. He was born in 1867 and grew up on the farm which had belonged to his mother's family for nine generations. Even as a boy Nolde was different from his three brothers: he drew, modelled and painted, and covered boards and barn doors with drawings in chalk. Some aspects of the family background, however, affected him deeply. The family were Protestants, steeped in religion, and in his youth Nolde read the Bible a great deal - its images were to return to him later in life. It was clear that Nolde was unsuited for farm work, and in 1884 he took a job as an apprentice carver in a furniture factory in Flensburg. Here he stayed for four years, drawing and painting in his spare time. In 1888 he went to Munich, to see an exhibition of industrial arts, and managed to stay on by finding a job in a furniture factory. After only a few weeks he moved to Karlsruhe, where he found a similar job and attended classes in a school of industrial arts in the evenings. Eventually he gave up his job and enrolled in day classes at the same school, drawing from plaster casts and studying perspective and anatomy. He was unable to stay more than two semesters, as his savings ran out. In the autumn of 1889 he moved to Berlin, where he took a job as a furniture designer and spent his leisure time studying Old Master paintings in the magnificent Berlin museums; he also had his first encounters with

"Types and Reflection" by Lauri Emil Alanko
Types and Reflection by Lauri Emil Alanko. If you're interested in reflection or dynamic loading in statically typed languages, this is worth reading. One of my favorite parts of this thesis is the dynamic loading section, along with discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of Haskell's Data.Dynamic, Template Haskell, and Don Stewart's hs-plugins. Personally, I've been trying to figure out how to get elisp quality source evaluation with Haskell, and this thesis goes a long way towards answering my outstanding questions. We've gotten our hands on two framed paintings from the house of an old danish lady who just passed away. She allegedly had a sister who had a relationship with Emil Nolde. We have no idea if this is true, but we took these two paintings with us back home and we're hoping that there're some Nolde-informed people out there who can give a qualified guess on these paintings' origin. Maybe there nothing, but it could be funny if they're not. I thought I could upload them on this site, but that doesn't seem to be possible, so if anyone is interested in viewing these paintings, send me an email and I'll send the to your inbox.
