Ann Berman received her BA in Dance from Washington University in St. Louis, MO in 1995 and her MFA from Mills College in 1999. Since moving to the Bay Area in 1996, Ann has had the pleasure of performing with many wonderful companies and choreographers including Molissa Fenley, Megan Nicely, Dance Repertory/San Francisco, Strong Current Dance Company and Zaccho Dance Theatre. At the 1986 Summernationals, Karp was the class of the field. He qualified number one in a fifteen-car field. In a classic Monday rain-out final, Karp defeated Manzo, 6.38, 216.13 to 6.43, 214.54. At the NorthStar Nationals in Brainerd, MN, Karp again faced Manzo in the final, and defeated him, 6.38, 218.44 to 6.50, 217.39. Manzo got his revenge at Karp’s hometrack, new England Dragway, during the Division One finale. Manzo outqualified Karp, then beat him in the semi-finals, 6.43-6.49, before defeating number one qualifier Dick Bell in the final. Karp finished 18th in the national standings that year."
