George Sarton's Tribute to Muslim Scientists in the "Introduction to the History of Science,"
"It will suffice here to evoke a few glorious names without contemporary equivalents in the West: Jabir ibn Haiyan, al-Kindi, al-Khwarizmi, al-Fargani, al-Razi, Thabit ibn Qurra, al-Battani, Hunain ibn Ishaq, al-Farabi, Ibrahim ibn Sinan, al-Masudi, al-Tabari, Abul Wafa, 'Ali ibn Abbas, Abul Qasim, Ibn al-Jazzar, al-Biruni, Ibn Sina, Ibn Yunus, al-Kashi, Ibn al-Haitham, 'Ali Ibn 'Isa al-Ghazali, al-zarqab, Omar Khayyam. A magnificent array of names which it would not be difficult to extend. If anyone tells you that the Middle Ages were scientifically sterile, just quote these men to him, all of whom flourished within a short period, 750 to 1100 A.D."
Preface On 8 June, A.D. 632, the Prophet Mohammed (Peace and Prayers be upon Him) died, having accomplished the marvelous task of uniting the tribes of Arabia into a homogeneous and powerful nation.

Roman Mathematics
The Alexandrian period of Greek civilization ended in 31 bc with Rome’s conquest of Egypt, the last of Alexander’s kingdoms. Roman orator Cicero boasted that the Romans were not dreamers like the Greeks but applied their study of mathematics to the useful. Nothing mathematically significant was accomplished by the Romans. The Roman numeration system was based on Roman numerals, which were cumbersome for calculation. Despite this drawback, the use of Roman numerals continued in some European schools until about 1600 and in bookkeeping for another century. B
Indian and Islamic Mathematics
After the decline of Greece and Rome, mathematics flourished for hundreds of years in India and the Islamic world. Mathematics in India was largely a tool for astronomy, yet Indian mathematicians discovered a number of important concepts. Their mathematical masterpieces and those of the Greeks were translated into Arabic in centers of Islamic learning, where mathematical discoveries continued during the period known in the West as the Middle Ages. Our present numeration system, for example, is known as the Hindu-Arabic system.

Again this is about my friend .. she gave me a lots of "ahadith" about Allâh (swt) from Al-Kafi, like Allaah often lies and does mistakes, He has the Quality of 'Badaa', This means he forgets, He makes mistakes, He plans but this does not take effect, He does not know who to appoint as the next message conveyor, the next Imaam and sooo on.. Astagfirullah..
Well, I told her that Al-Kafi is not a sahih book, so that means that those hadith are not sahih. Then she said that this is what shia belives, this is our "Aqidah". I told her that it's not true and her respond to that was that whoever told me that was lying to me
Well.. How can I convince her that this is NOT what shia believes?
Muhammed Ali May 29 2005, 07:36 PM that chapter form al kafi is online in english. read it carefully and you will see that she probably misquoted the narrations.
in my opinion bada is a method used by Allah to communicate with us. if things that WE KNOW are not going to change then why do Dua?

We have not sent you but as a universal (Messenger) to all people, giving them glad tidings, and warning them (against sin), but most people understand not.
All the teachings of the Prophet - peace be upon him - are merciful and they bring mercy to the worlds. He taught truth, justice, honesty, generosity and humility. He taught chastity, care of family, love and kindness among the spouses. He taught love of children and respect of elders. He taught modesty and moderate lifestyle. He taught dignity to human beings and for human beings. He told that human beings should not bow to idols, icons and statues. Human beings should not worship other human beings. He taught that only God to be worshipped and we should not worship anyone other than Allah.
Prophet Muhammad - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him - taught that all human beings are one family. There should not be any discrimination among human beings on the basis of gender, race, color, tribe or nationality. He taught that no one should be compelled to accept Islam; there should be freedom of religion for all people. He taught justice for all people, even to enemies. He taught people to love their neighbors, to be kind to those who are under their care and authority.
Fulfilling the Mission of Mercy: Prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him- fulfilled his mission of mercy in his life and the world today can enjoy the fruits of this mercy. All those who truly followed Prophet Muhammad lived a life of love, mercy, success and happiness.

If they change their belief, Allaah will change their condition. Allah will replace their security with fear, and their sustenance. And security and sustenance are two Allah's greatest graces. Allah says in the Quraan, "So let them worship Allah the Lord of this House (the Kaaba) Who provides them with food against hunger and with security against fear (of danger)" Suhaib ibn Sinan narrated that the Prophet said: "How remarkable is the case of the believer! There is good for him in everything, but this is not the case for anyone except for the believer. When the believer receives any good, he is thankful to Allah, and gets a reward. And when some misfortune befalls him, he endures it patiently, for which he is (also) rewarded."

TRIAL OF TALUT'S ARMY
Talut (Saul) whom the Holy Quran admires as worthy king had a strong physique and great knowledge. The Holy Quran says:
“He said: Surely, Allah has chosen him in preference to you, and He has increased him abundantly in knowledge and physique. (2:247)”
This strong man was appointed by the prophet of that time to be the leader of the Israelis to fight their enemies. Talut mobilized a great army to fight Jalut (Goliath) the tyrant, who oppressed the Israelis. He (Saul) said to his soldiers: Be careful, for God will test you through a river on your way; he who will not drink from it though he might be very thirsty will be (considered as) obeying God and will be among my helpers and entitled to God's grace. But anyone who will drink from it is not my follower and will be deprived of God's assistance.
It was hot, the land was dry, and thirst prevailed. Suddenly, the river came into sight and the thirsty soldiers saw a river flowing with limped water before them. It requires great patience and strong faith to resist desire to pass by a river and not quench one's thirst for the sake of God. The river was a great test for the army of Talut. Satan began to tempt them as what the philosophy of suffering from thirst is while being near to a river. Why water, a source of life, should be banned. No, one must drink from it, feel fresh, and fight the enemies; not knowing that man's number one enemy is his concupiscence which disobeys God's orders. First of all, one must fight this inner enemy and then be sure that after suppressing it, God's help will come. Finally, the pleasant sight of the river and Satan's temptations weakened their will. Except for 313 soldiers, the entire army whose number was 80,000 drank from the river and revealed their weak faith against physical desires.

Horudhac:
Qorayaashii hore ee reer Galbeedka ahaa marka ay kahadlayaan xadaaradii carabta iyo Muslimiinta waxaad arkaysaa inay isticmaalayaan kalmadaha: " Arabs and Muhammadans". Sidoo kale meelo kale oo qoraalkooda kamid ah marka ay kahadlayaan ilbaxnimadii Carabta iyo Muslimiinta, waxaad arkaysaa inay u isticmaalayaan kalmadaha: "Saracen(ic) iyo Moor(ish) Muslimiintaas oo kunoolaa Africa, Yurub, Carabta iyo Eeshiya. Sida Nabi Muxammed(NNKH) laga wariyey qof kasta oo luqaddiisa koowaad tahay Carabi waa CARAB, iyadoo aan lafiirinayn qabiilkiisa, meesha uu dagganyahay ama meesha uu kudhashayba.
Carabtu waxay ahaayeen xoogga isgaarsiinta ee caalamka muslinka ah, ilaa laga gaaro dhawr qarni kahor, xagga dhaqdhaqaaqa diinta, Bulshada iyo sayniskaba. Sannaddihii 800-1500 C.E. xaqiiqdii cilmiga guud ee sayniska adduunku wuxuu kuqornaa afka Carabiga. Hayeeshee kaddib gumaysigii waddanka Muslinka ayaa qoridda xadaarada afka carabigu noqotay mid aan saas uxoogbadnayn, mararka qaarkoodna labaabi'iyey.
