Abstract: Let g be a reductive, complex Lie algebra, with adjoint group G, let G act on the ring of differential operators D(g) via the adjoint action and write : g ! D(g) for the differential of this action. A classic result of Harish-Chandra shows that any invariant differential operator that kills O(g) G , the algebra of invariant functions on g, also kills all invariant distributions on a real form of g. In this paper we generalize this result by showing that D(g) (g) = 2 D(g) : O(g) G = : This... Since its definition by Bernstein, Gelfand and Gelfand in the seventies the category O has become a basic object of study admitting interesting generalizations in terms of Harish-Chandra modules. We will show how these categories of Harish-Chandra modules behave with respect to the existence of "big" projectives, double centralizer properties and tilting modules. Vishwamitra created two beautiful dancing girls and sent them to the place where the king was camping. They purposefully talked with the king in a haughty manner.
Harishchandra became angry and turned them out with beatings. As per his plan Vishwamitra appeared before king Harishchandra and said, "You have beaten my daughters." As punishment for this either he should marry these low-cast girls or he took away the kingdom arid then demanded the money he had been gifted earlier. Harishchandra did not want to marry them. He gave away all that he had including his throne and treasury.
But that was not enough. Vishwamitra gave him time up to forty-eight days to make up the remaining gold. Harishchandra left his kingdom with his wife and son. Vishwamitra sent his disciple Nakshatraka along with them to trouble and tease them.
Harishchandra came to Kashi. He sold his wife and son, and then sold himself to slavery and paid the entire amount of gold due to Nakshatraka.

Mythological Tales THE TRUTHFUL KING: HARISHCHANDRA
King Harishchandra was the son of Trishanku, who was sent to heaven with his physical body by the grace of the sage Vishwamitra but was jealously pushed down by the deities, as a result of which, he kept hanging in between heaven and earth.
Harishchandra was renowned for his charitable nature, devotion and virtue. His empire was free from famines, epidemics and other calamities because of his religious powers. His subjects were content, happy and religious like him.
His truthfulness was famous in all the 3 Lokas (worlds). When Indra came to know about it from sage Narad, he became jealous of the king and to test his truthfulness, he sought Vishwamitra's help.
Vishwamitra, by the powers of his penance came in the king's dreams and demanded his whole kingdom to which Harishchandra readily agreed to give. Though, it all happened only in the dreams and it was far from reality, yet when Vishwamitra came to his palace, the very next day and made the same demand, the king gave him his whole kingdom and wealth. The whole earth was his kingdom and after relinquishing it for the benefit of Vishwamitra, he decided to move away to 'Kashi' as it is believed to be based on the Trishula of Lord Shiva. The scriptures have prohibited the use of things, once donated hence, 'Kashi' was the only place on the whole earth which was outside Vishwamitra's authority.
But, Vishwamitra demanded something as Dakshina (honorarium) to make such a great donation successful. But, Harishchandra had nothing in his possession. He sold his wife 'Shaivya' to a Brahmin to meet his demand his son Rohitashva went along with his mother. But even the selling of his wife was not enough to meet Vishwamitra's demand. So, he had no choice but to sell him to a man whose profession was to guard the cremation place and to collect the taxes for cremating the dead bodies.

BIRTH OF LIVING CREATURES KING HARISHCHANDRA After being thrown out from his kingdom by Vishwamitra, Harishchandra reached the holy town of Varanasi, which was an abode of Lord Mahadev. There Harishchandra saw Vishwamitra standing before him. Vishwamitra said- A month has been completed now. Now, give me my Dakshina. Harishchandra said- There is still half an hour in the completion of this month. Please wait. I will give your Dakshina. Vishwamitra said- I will come after half an hour. Saying this, Vishwamitra departed.
When Vishwamitra left, Harishchandra started to worry as to what would happen to him in his next birth if he did not keep his promise made to a Brahmin. Seeing him perplexed, queen Shaivya tried to console him. She said- Man requires a wife only to produce a child. Now we already have a child- Rohit. Hence I am no longer useful for you. You sell me and pay the acquired wealth as Dakshina to the Brahmin. Harishchandra fainted after hearing his wife's words. The queen began to wail at her husband's condition. Thus wailing, the queen also fell unconscious. The little Rohit also felt perplexed by his parent's condition. He began to cry-

    56. The Story Of Raja Harishchandra
Raja Harishchandra’s story reveals to us a very important lesson – we too Raja Harishchandra was the son of Triksankhu, of Ishwaku lineage (Lord Rama
    http://www.vedicastrology.com/articles/ArticleRajaHarishchandra.htm
The Story of Raja Harishchandra by Ramu Simple things in life are easy to do, so they say. Like speaking the truth, for example. This should not be a difficult proposition to keep. Of course anyone can lead a life without telling a lie, unless he or she complicates his or her own life by falling to temptations. The world is full of such temptations beckoning at us from every nook and corner of our lives, painting a wonderful scenario available to us if only we agree to lie, to deceive, and to cheat. And all we need is to fall into the trap of telling a lie only once and then we are lost forever. This is all part of the world of Maya, the world of illusion.
To maintain one’s life by traveling the path of truth is not only difficult, it needs a tremendous amount of discipline, courage, steadfastness and determination. But the rewards of following this path are spectacular and most importantly permanent.
With the blessings of the almighty, I we now like to narrate the story of Raja Harischandra who stands as a beacon of truth among all the illustrious and renowned kings of India. The Raja stood steadfast in his determination to do his duty in the face of severe obstacles, impediments and difficulties that would have deterred any ordinary mortal.
His story has gained immortality in India. It has been recorded in the Puranas as well as in the Vedas. Every child has listened to the travails and hurt that the Raja, his wife Taramati and son Rohitaksha had to face, even calamities, only because the Raja was truthful and would not lie.

His grandfather Yuvanaashwa accepted him as his own son. Ambreesh had a son named Yauvanaashwa and his son was Haareet. In the family-line of Maandhaataa, these three became the leader of three Avaantar Gotra. Naag married their sister Narmadaa to Purukuts. With the permission of Naagraaj Vaasuki, Narmadaa took her husband to Rasaatal. There he got Bhagvaan's power and he killed some Gandharv. On this Naagraaj Vaasuki got very pleased and gave him a Var that whosoever will remember this reference he will not have any fear from serpents. He had a son named Trasdrasyu, and his son was Anranya, and his son was Haryashwa, and his son was Arun, and his son was Tribandhan. Tribandhan's son was Satyavrat. This Satyavrat became known as Trishanku. Although Trishanku became Shoodra because of the Shaap of his father and Guru, but with the help of Vishwaamitra Jee he was able to go to Swarg with this physical body. Seeing this Devtaa pushed him down and he started falling down with head towards Earth, then Vishwaamitra kept him in the sky with his Tap power. He can still be seen hanging in the middle. When Rohit came to know that his father wanted to sacrifice him for Yagya, then he went to forest with his bow and arrow. After a few days he came to know that Varun Devtaa was angry and he had made his father ill, so he started towards his city. Then Indra came and stopped him and said - "It is better to roam around Teerth instead of being a sacrifice animal." On the advice of Indra he stayed in the forest for one year more. Then every year Indra came in the form of an old Braahman to stop him going towards his city and he did not go there for six years.
