Abstract . Anasazi landscape architecture represents the prehistoric site design and regional planning traditions of modern Southwestern Pueblo cultures. This Puebloan tradition delineates the oldest intact set of functional cultures in North America. Anasazi landscape architecture may be more complex and diverse than initially described. Cultural misinterpretations, loss of knowledge to pandemic events, rights to cultural privacy, cultural diversity, and interacting cultures have helped to disguise a thorough understanding of Anasazi design intent and principles. Descendants of the Anasazi provide insight into the possible spatial ordering of the Anasazi landscape which included a variety of structures, village layouts, roadways, and agricultural features, illustrated by prehistoric sites within the greater four corners region in the American Southwest. Key Words: Landscape history, pre-Columbian studies, American antiquities

YO, LA PEOR DE TODA (1990)
(I, THE WORST OF ALL)

Historical Context: Print Video Audio Online Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz: Life as "The Worst of All" [1] Juana Ines de la Cruz has been considered one of the most gifted writers of the Spanish Baroque Age, "the Tenth Muse," the first modern feminist, and the list can go on. ( Click here to hear Audrey Gibbs read one of Sor Juana's poems and discuss her contemporary reputation .) A fascinating personality, Sor Juana reemerges after two centuries in the shadow of forgetfulness as an encyclopedic and multidisciplinary intellectual who lived an obscure, if not stifled, life within the shadows of her convent. Her writings are the main source for reconstructing the events of her life, as very few reliable historical documents have survived. Other biographies, such as the one published in 1700 by Father Diego Calleja (the first one written about Juana) become unreliable in that they render Juana's life as an ascent toward saintliness, and are religiously biased, therefore unable to clarify some parts of her life that have remained ambiguous. [4] Very little is known about her childhood, and all the details are related by Juana herself in her writing, especially in the
