50 Bab Ballads
by William. S. Gilbert The Aeneid
by Virgil This classic epic poem, translated from Latin, written around 29-19BC, contains twelve books exploring the legends surrounding Aeneas and the founding of Rome. The first six books follow Aeneas' journeys and are modeled after Homer's "Odyssey." The last six patterned after the "Iliad" deal with the Trojan war where Aeneas is told, as he leaves the burning ruins, that he will found a glorious city of destiny in the West. Amours de Voyage
by Arthur Clough Ancient Poems, Ballads and Songs of England
by Robert Bell (editor) Taken down from oral recitation and transcribed from private manuscripts, rare broadsides and scarce publications. An Anthology of Australian Verse
by Bertram Stevens Ballad of Reading Gaol
by Oscar Wilde This long ballad poem published in 1898 was Wilde's last artistic effort. The poem is a social commentary against the deplorable and inhuman conditions existing in Reading jail. His poignant plea for prison reform was written while he served a two-year term there. The Ballad of the White Horse
by G. K. Chesterton

The Information Highway to HELL this site looks best at 1024x786 Glad to see you out on the Information Highway to Hell! Predictions were made that the Internet would create an online Renaissance. Instead we got porn, e-mail spam, and popup advertisements. Referring to the Internet as "The Information Highway to Hell" is my smug way of noting the underutilization of cyberspace. There is no xxx content on this site. Wednesday August 31, 2005

I have tried to create a site with content, a site interesting enough to spend an hour in. Monologue is a recollection of my life. No better than anyone elses': no worse. Travelogue and Outdoors have pictures along with a written accounts of what I see when I go somewhere. My intent with these areas is to give you the feeling of having gone there yourself - to let you the viewer experience a place that you yourself may never visit. All the pictures enlarge to full screen (in a new window) when you click on them. To close the enlarged pictures, click on the "x" found on the top right of the new window. You can read and *listen* to poems in Poetry. It is may be easier if you have a fast Internet connection, although I do stream the audio if you still use a slow modem. Please let me know if you can't hear the poems. Live Cam is an experiment to see a live view of Times Square in New York City. If the camera in Times Square is not active, the pictures don't change. Genealogy has family research. Echoes are the 30 echoes of my high school choir. We made records, and I digitized them. Collogue is an experiment in thought.
