The boxes were actually 'Made in China' and the Bush PR team had covered over the China stamp with 'Made in U.S.A.'. White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan laughingly attributed the clearly gargantuan paper-affixing effort to an "overzealous volunteer" on the president's advance team. That streak ended when the Patriots made mistakes of their own and their opponent played error-free football. On Sunday, New England began a new streak with some old faces in new places. Those recognizable mugs followed the same old blueprint to victory. The Patriots forced a trio of crucial turnovers, racked up five sacks, and the Rams committed 10 penalties in a game that had the footprints of New England’s record-streak all over it. New England took advantage of St. Louis’ miscues and used a fair amount of trickery to beat the Rams 40-22 at the Edward Jones Dome. The loss drops the Rams to 4-4 on the season and boosts the Patriots to 7-1. Seattle beat San Francisco 42-27 to improve to 5-3 and take the lead in the division. For a team that has had trouble revealing its true identity through eight games, the Rams left more questions unanswered after the bye week. Right guard Adam Timmerman said his team knew what New England did to have success, but this loss could be placed squarely on the shoulders of a St. Louis team that failed to execute in all three phases of the game.

Antoine Arbogast From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Louis Fran§ois Antoine Arbogast October 4 April 8 ,or April 18 ) was a French mathematician . He was born at Mutzig in Alsace and died at Strasbourg , where he was professor. He wrote on series and the derivatives known by his name: he was the first writer to separate the symbols of operation from those of quantity. He was professor of mathematics at the Coll¨ge de Colmar and entered a mathematical competition which was run by the St Petersburg Academy. His entry was to bring him fame and an important place in the history of the development of the calculus. Arbogast submitted an essay to the St Petersburg Academy in which he came down firmly on the side of Euler . In fact he went much further than Euler in the type of arbitrary functions introduced by integrating, claiming that the functions could be discontinuous not only in the limited sense claimed by Euler, but discontinuous in a more general sense that he defined that allowed the function to consist of portions of different curves. Arbogast won the prize with his essay and his notion of discontinuous function became important in Cauchy 's more rigorous approach to analysis.

Le Buffet est "de type Hochfelden", mais en plus simple, avec un arc pour la grande Plate-face. Cet instrument, pourtant tout ce qu'il y a de plus historique, est déjà le troisième orgue du lieu : le premier datait de 1748, et était l'oeuvre de Daniel CRÄNER. Il venait de Ribeauvillé, et c'est probablement Jean Casimir KUHLWEIN qui fit le déménagement. C'est cet orgue qui fut réparé par CHAXEL en 1801. le deuxième est l'instrument de Joseph CALLINET , 1832, qui se trouve aujourd'hui à Wildenstein . C'est Valentin RINKENBACH qui l'a transféré là-bas en 1838.

Philippe-Louis VOLTZ (1785-1840) Fils d'un limonadier de Strasbourg. Publié dans le LIVRE DU CENTENAIRE (Ecole Polytechnique) , 1897, Gauthier-Villars et fils, TOME III, page 196 VOLTZ (promotion de 1803 de Polytechnique), né à Strasbourg, le 15 août 1785 ; mort, à Paris, Inspecteur général de 2e classe, le 6 février 1840. Il s'est occupé spécialement de Paléontologie et de Métallurgie. Comme paléontologiste, il a puissamment aidé Dufrénoy pour la réorganisation des collections de l'Ecole des Mines. Outre ses études sur le chauffage à l'air chaud, il a donné divers Mémoires sur la Métallurgie, notamment (1837) sur la distinction entre les fontes miroitantes de Siegen et les fontes blanches ordinaires. Il a laissé une réputation spéciale pour le dévouement avec lequel il a prodigué ses conseils aux exploitants de mines et d'usines de son Service. Publié dans Annales des Mines , pages 237 et suiv. : NOTICE NÉCROLOGIQUE sur M. Voltz, inspecteur général des mines, Par M. F. GARNIER, inspecteur général des mines. La fin prématurée de M. Voltz a été, pour le corps des mines, une perte à laquelle ses membres ont donné de vifs regrets. C'était un devoir sacré pour nous, qui l'avons aimé dès l'époque de notre entrée commune à l'Ecole polytechnique, de rappeler à la mémoire de nos camarades la vie et les travaux de cet homme de bien, de cet ingénieur distingué.
