Toxicology
Exposures to chemical, physical and biological agents have the potential to cause injury, disease or death. This graduate program provides training in the study of the causes and prevention of adverse consequences to human health that may result from environmental exposures.
What do Toxicologists Do?
Toxicologists identify environmental exposures of concern, reveal mechanisms by which toxicants initiate pathological dysfunction or disease, identify interventions for the prevention of adverse effects, and estimate acceptable levels of exposure for the protection of the public health.

Forensic Toxicology Welcome to the World Wide Web Virtual Library: Forensic Toxicology. The Virtual Library is the Web's original index, founded by Timothy Berners-Lee. In the original spirit of the Web, it is maintained as a public service by volunteers expert in their particular fields. Forensic Toxicology is, quite literally, the use of toxicology in courts of law. This is most often understood to mean the analysis of alcohol, drugs, and poisons in body fluids and the interpretation of those analytical results for the benefit of the courts. There is considerable overlap between Forensic Toxicology and Clinical Toxicology Criminalistics Forensic Psychology Employment Drug Testing , Environmental Toxicology, Forensic Pathology , Pharmacology, Sports Medicine, and Veterinary Toxicology ; there is some overlap with the work of Poison Centers . Consequently there are few "pure" Forensic Toxicology sites on the Internet. I hope you will find those that follow to be among the most useful. 24. American Board Of Forensic Toxicology: Welcome
The American Board of Forensic toxicology, Inc. was organized in 1975 to provide, in the interest of the public and the advancement of the sciences,
http://www.abft.org/
The Board is a non-profit organization incorporated in the District of Columbia. It is recognized by the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Society of Forensic Toxicologists California Association of Toxicologists Canadian Society of Forensic Science and Southwestern Association of Toxicologists The Board is composed of officers and other directors, who serve staggered terms and are selected from the Diplomates at large by a Nominating Committee process. The ABFT is accredited by the Forensic Specialties Accreditation Board (FSAB).
The Mission of the ABFT Forensic toxicology encompasses the measurement of alcohol, drugs and other toxic substances in biological specimens and interpretation of such results in a medicolegal context. The purpose of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology is to establish and enhance voluntary standards for the practice of forensic toxicology and for the examination and recognition of scientists and laboratories providing forensic toxicology services.
Certification of Forensic Toxicologists
The objective of the Board is to establish, enhance, and revise as necessary, standards of qualification for individuals who practice forensic toxicology, and to certify as qualified those voluntary applicants who comply with the requirements of the Board. In this way, the Board aims to establish a practical and equitable system of readily identifying individuals who possess the requisite qualifications and competence in forensic toxicology.

Report on Carcinogens (RoC) Printer Friendly The RoC is an informational scientific and public health document first ordered by Congress in 1978 that identifies and discusses agents, substances, mixtures, or exposure circumstances that may pose a hazard to human health by virtue of their carcinogenicity. The RoC is published biennially and serves as a meaningful and useful compilation of data on:
  • The carcinogenicity (ability to cause cancer), genotoxicity (ability to damage genes), and biologic mechanisms (modes of action in the body) of the listed substance in humans and/or animals. The potential for human exposure to these substances.

H i, I am Professor Anil Aggrawal from India. I am working as a Professor of Forensic Medicine at the Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi-110002, India. I love to exchange ideas on Forensic Medicine, Forensic Pathology and Forensic Toxicology. I love writing books on science, and have published nine books so far. I love reading and writing science fiction, especially that related to forensic medicine. Anyone wishing to exchange ideas with me on forensic medicine, science, and science fiction is welcome. My E-mail is dr_anil@hotmail.com . My address for correspondence is:-
    S-299 Greater Kailash-1,
    New Delhi-110048,
    INDIA

My telephone number is (+91-11-29235460) [country code, India: 91; City code, Delhi: 11]. I have been writing popular articles on Forensic Medicine, Forensic Pathology and Forensic Toxicology in some of the most popular magazines and periodicals in India. To read some of my stories on Forensic Toxicology, please allow the page to load completely and then click on the "Next" Link.
I love talking to young intelligent students on matters of forensic science. One of my most memorable experiences was when I talked on "Forensic Engineering" to a group of highly intelligent students at IIT, Bombay in February 2002. The students were fantastic; I thoroughly enjoyed being with them and talking to them on this confluence of the two specialties. The students appeared to enjoy my slides and animations too.
