Data Mining Improves Decision Making
Data mining uncovers patterns in data using predictive techniques. These patterns play a critical role in decision making because they reveal areas for process improvement. Using data mining, organizations can increase the profitability of their interactions with customers, detect fraud, and improve risk management. The patterns uncovered using data mining help organizations make better and timelier decisions.
Data mining helps SPSS customers solve business problems
SPSS data mining solutions and services have enabled hundreds of organizations to achieve remarkable results in many areas. For example, organizations have used data mining to:

Mining in Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is the agency that has the primary responsibility for regulating environmental aspects of metallic mining activities in the state. Within DNR, the Waste Management Program has a lead role in regulating metallic mining activities, including metallic mineral exploration (drilling), prospecting (bulk sampling), mining and mining waste disposal. The Waste Management Program also regulates oil and gas exploration and has oversight over locally administered nonmetallic mining reclamation programs.
Metallic Mining
The Waste Management Program is responsible for reviewing proposed mining permit applications, including the associated mining plan, reclamation plan and project-wide monitoring plan, and any associated mining waste facility siting and design studies. Metallic mining operations may include an open pit or underground mine constructed for the extraction of copper-, gold-, lead- and zinc-bearing minerals. Proposed projects undergo a comprehensive review to determine whether they will comply with the applicable laws and rules of the state. This review culminates with a contested case hearing on all regulatory aspects of the proposed project and the adequacy of the environmental impact statement (EIS).

Overview
The Quest Team 2007
The Intelligent Information Systems Research (aka. Quest) group designs information systems that enable the preservation of the privacy and ownership of data while not impeding the flow of information. Our work is motivated by the technical challenges posed by the ever-changing computing landscape, whose success is predicated on protecting the privacy, security, and integrity of interactions between individuals and enterprises as well as between enterprises. We do fundamental and "visionary" research that closely ties with applications, i.e. identifying and studying new frameworks, models, methodologies, opportunities. The team has a solid track record of doing good work; from innovating the initial concepts in data mining to creating data-level technology for enforcing privacy to creating technology to enabling traceability in the RFID network to producing middleware that enables localized mobile device disclosure-compliant information sharing. We ground our work in the Healthcare Informatics space and ensure that our research is applicable across a myriad of other industries. We believe that research must have impact, on the enterprise and on humanity. Thus, we strive to ensure that our work is not only applicable to real problems, but also theoretically sound.

Opportunities in the Heart of South East Asia are highly sought after.......
As we see it ...

"People who accept personal responsibility for their actions, efforts and lives, contribute greatest to those around them. The very best employers accept personal responsibility for urging people along the path to their fullest potential. The very best employees accept personal responsibility for adding value back to that organisation. The most effective work environments then, are those in which all participants recognise that it is a two way street."
We do our best to apply these values through the delivery of our service.

Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum
The Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum commemorates the mining industry that helped build Arizona. Arizona is the Nation's number one mining state with the largest value of non-fuel mineral production in the country. The Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum can trace its origin back to the first Arizona Fair, held in November of 1884! The mineral display was said to "overshadow all else." The collection, already one of the finest in the world, has been growing and improving since that time. Today, over 23,000 school children and 18,000 other visitors tour each year. The Museum draws mineral collectors and rockhounds from around the world.
