Remote Control Helicopters
Cheap mini electric rc helicopters can be flown indoors and outdoors, while fast gas powered radio control helicopters need to be flown outdoors. Below is an introduction to the world of remote control helicopters.
Picture of Mini RC Helicopter by Hiboro
Mini Electric Powered RC Helicopters
These are best for beginners. The electric motor design is less complicated and easy to set up. There are very simple electric rc helicopters that cost less than $60. Great if you just want to try out the hobby. However, I would recommend you start of with "real" electric powered remote control helicopters such as the Skylark Ready to Fly Helicopter or the AeroHawk RTF Helicopter. At less than $250, these remote controlled helicopters are a bargain! Skylark Ready to Fly Electric Powered RC Helicopter Note: Ready to fly or RTF means that the kit comes with radio, battery, and charger. These models or kits come already assembled.
Indoor Remote Control Helicopters
These micro rc helicopters are small enough to play indoor or your backyard. Simple design makes it easy even for beginners.

Jack Harter helicopters, Kauai, Hawaii. The originator of helicopter tours in Hawaii. Narrated tours of Kauai s scenic wonders.
http://www.helicopters-kauai.com/tour.html
Tours Charters Reservations Our Aircraft ... Contact
From those earliest days, Jack recognized Kauai as a special place which needed to be presented to his passengers in an equally special format. Because of this, Jack and his pilots have spent many hours personally researching Kauai's history, geology, biology and botany. They have read extensively about Kauai and personally spoken to many kupuna (elders) and kamaaina (someone native born) about Kauai's special places and stories. This extensive knowledge is incorporated into the live narration presented during each flight. Our helicopters are equipped with two-way intercom systems, which allow our pilots to easily converse with their passengers. We do not play prerecorded narratives during our flights. We encourage our passengers to pick up the microphone and talk with their pilot during the flight. This interaction gives the pilots some insight into their passengers' interests and allows the narration to be tailored to each group. Our pilots' narrations receive high marks from our passengers and the authors of guidebooks such as The Kauai Underground Guide and The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. Our natural history format and the smooth flying skills of our pilots make scenic tours with Jack Harter Helicopters memories that last a lifetime! "Two years ago we went on a helicopter tour over Maui and we thought we knew what to expect. We were very, very impressed with this flight. The narration was great, it kept us interested the whole way. We will recommend you to all of our friends who visit Kauai."

Alpen Helicopters Ltd. also played a big role in the reconstruction and repairs to Hydro transmission towers in the winter/spring of 1999 after excessive snow fall that year threatened the collapse of the towers. Experience in the film industry includes stunt flying, helicopter support and filming for the Film Board of Canada, Much Music Video for Glass Tiger, and filming for a Danish Film Board doing a documentary in British Columbia.

    74. Helicopter - Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia
A helicopter is an aircraft which is lifted and propelled by one or more horizontal rotors, each rotor consisting of two or more rotor blades.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helicopter
    Helicopter
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation search For other uses, see Helicopter (disambiguation) Helicopter A Canadian Helicopters Bell 206 A helicopter is an aircraft which is lifted and propelled by one or more horizontal rotors , each rotor consisting of two or more rotor blades. Helicopters are classified as rotorcraft or rotary-wing aircraft to distinguish them from fixed-wing aircraft because the helicopter derives its source of lift from the rotor blades rotating around a mast. The word 'helicopter' is adapted from the French h©licopt¨re , coined by Gustave de Ponton d'Amecourt in 1861. It is linked to the Greek words helix/helik- ) = "spiral" or "turning" and pteron ) = "wing". As an aircraft, the primary advantages of the helicopter are due to the rotor blades that revolve through the air, providing lift without requiring the aircraft to move forward the way an airplane does. This creates the ability for the helicopter to take off and land vertically without the need for runways. For this reason, helicopters are often used to operate in congested or isolated areas where airplanes are generally not able to take off or land. The lift from the rotor also allows the helicopter to hover in one area for extended periods of time, and to do so more efficiently than other forms of vertical take-off and landing ( VTOL ) aircraft, allowing it to accomplish tasks that airplanes are unable to perform.

    A Quick Introduction...
http://a0851606.uscgaux.info . For more information and background, check out the bio page. People have asked me, "Why The Helicopter Page?" This site was initially created so I could learn how to do HTML. It is a personal web site, but I wanted it to be more than "Here's my house, here's my car, my favorite music is..." Of course, it has evolved into some of that (Here's my boat...), but the main purpose of the site has evolved into a quest to educate and provide information that is hard to find elsewhere on the web. I hope you find what I have here to be useful and interesting. Over the course of the years, industry professionals and educators have asked if they can use my site as a learning tool for their employees, guests and industry contacts. I welcome this and I am honored when someone asks. In April, 2006, I was asked by a senior engineer at Rolls Royce to utilize my site as a learning tool for his internal training sessions. I can not express the honor that does to myself and my web site. It is always a pleasure to know that this site helps teach someone, or helps in some way. Some of you who visit here regularly may already know, but for those who don't, this site was moved several years ago from Geocities. This went from being a "free" site to one which now costs me to operate. I have decided to limit photos and files due to space and personal time available. Some people have suggested that I include more photos, but I think it is pretty comprehensive and what I have here should suffice to get the information across. The response to the site has been overwhelming, so instead of giving it up when the free web hosting went away, I have continued it the best way that I can. I have taken on Google ads now to help offset the costs.

    n. An aircraft that derives its lift from blades that rotate about an approximately vertical central axis. -tered -ter·ing -ters To go or transport by helicopter. [French h©licopt¨re : Greek helix, helik- , spiral; see helix + Greek pteron , wing; see –pter WORD HISTORY The two Greek words that are the origin of helicopter may be particularly hard for English speakers to spot. Helicopter was borrowed from the French word h©licopt¨re, a word constructed from Greek heliko– and pteron, “wing.” Heliko–, the combining form of helix, “spiral,” has given us helico–, which can be joined with other words and word forms to create new words. The consonant cluster pt in pteron begins many Greek words but relatively few English words. English speakers unfamiliar with Greek are thus not likely to recognize the word's elements as helico–pter;
