Introduction and Overview
Rational Model of Mystic Insight: Meta-Theory ... What’s New Introduction and Overview This research defines and outlines the ego death theory, as a new systematic research framework and paradigm. The ego death theory holds that the essence and origin of religion is the use of visionary plants to routinely trigger the intense mystic altered state, producing loose cognitive-association binding, which then produces an experience of being controlled by frozen block-universe determinism with a single, pre-existing, ever-existing future. Experiencing this model of control and time initially destabilizes self-control power, and amounts to the death of the self that was conceived of as an autonomous control-agent. Self-control stability is restored upon transforming one's mental model to take into account the dependence of personal control on a hidden, separate thought-source, such as Necessity or a divine level that transcends Necessity. Myth describes this mystic-state experiential insight and transformation.

Cybernetics, and the related domain of systems science , is the study all forms of "organized complexity", that is how different components can be assembled in a way that is neither random nor repetitive so as to form a "system".
Pursued to its logical conclusion, this is a study about how a system of components can arranged in such a way as to fulfill a certain purpose. In this sense, Cybernetics is the study of viable system organization

Cybernetics is at once both an interdisciplinary and a transdisciplinary study.
It finds application in virtually whatever field of study one cares to name:
* engineering
* biology
* physics
* sociology
* chemistry
* medicine
* management and the formal aspects of the science seek to define a general theory of control ... one that is abstracted from the applied fields but appropriate to them all.

What is Cybernetics?
ad_unit_target='mainAdUnit'; X Close this window Cybernetics is a little understood and mainly philosophical area of study. It has been applied to social theory , physical and spatial relationships, and computer science, to name just a few of the many areas it touches upon. The field of study is still very young and not well-defined, so there are actually many differing ideas on the definition. Norbert Wiener, a mathematician, engineer and philosopher was the first to try to thoroughly define cybernetics. He believed it was the science of communications and control in animals and machines. He took the word from the Greek word for steersman . Ampere, who came before Wiener, wanted cybernetics to be the science of government and philosopher Warren McCulloch thought cybernetics was an experimental idea concerned with the communication with and between an observer and his environment. Some think of cybernetics as the science of effective organization, while others believe it focuses on form and pattern. Margaret Mead , the famed anthropologist, believed it was a language for expressing what one sees.

GREGORY BATESON, CYBERNETICS,
AND THE SOCIAL/BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES ABSTRACT
Gregory Bateson's interdisciplinary work in Anthropology, Psychiatry, Evolution and Epistemology was profoundly influenced by the ideas set forth in systems theory, communication theory, information theory and cybernetics. Bateson used the single term cybernetics in reference to an aggregate of the ideas that grew together shortly after World War II. For him, cybernetics, communication theory, information theory, and systems theory, together constituted a unified set of ideas. Many scholars and practitioners of the social/behavioral sciences, and the humanities, were first introduced to the cybernetic paradigm through Bateson's work. Yet, he seldom offered his audience more than a cursory reference to the key principles underlying his particular understanding of cybernetics. Thus, this essay incrementally and historically delineates the fundamental principles underlying the cybernetic paradigm as it was employed by Bateson.

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B, Electronic Publishing Procedures
Welcome! Thank you for choosing to submit your manuscript to the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B electronically. . The following set of pages enables you to submit an electronic version of your journal article for the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics Part B. Please note that as of January 1, 2002 all papers to Part B must be submitted electronically. The submission process and the advantages are described below. General information on the SMC society and the Transactions is available by following the highlighted links. Reviewer guidelines are within Manuscript Central with some additional ones here. You can find papers accepted for future publication in IEEE Xplore by clicking here. Why submit electronically? What is the format? What kinds of attachments? How do I submit my paper now that it is written?
Why?
Electronic submission is expected to significantly reduce the review cycle. More importantly, it allows you to include attachments (e.g. images, video, animations) to help explain the research represented in the paper. You can include code and data to allow others to build on your research. In addition, an accepted paper that was submitted electronically will appear on the IEEE XPLORE web site within 3 weeks of receipt of the corrected page proofs of an accepted, formatted paper , so you get your work disseminated faster.

(7 Cauac (Rain) / 7 K'ayab (Turtle) 69/260 - 12.19.11. cybernetics cybernetics (sì´ber-nèt´îks) noun (used with a sing. verb)
The theoretical study of communication and control processes in biological, mechanical, and electronic systems, especially the comparison of these processes in biological and artificial systems. [From Greek kubernêtês, governor, from kubernan, to govern.]
- cy´bernet´ic adjective
- cy´bernet´ically adverb
- cy´bernet´icist or cy´berneti´cian (-nî-tîsh´en) noun Cybernetics Cybernetics, interdisciplinary science dealing with communication and control systems in living organisms, machines, and organizations. The term was first applied in 1948 to the theory of control mechanisms by American mathematician Norbert Wiener . Cybernetics developed from investigations into how information is transformed into desired performance. The science arose out of problems that were encountered in the development of so-called electronic brains and of automatic-control mechanisms for military apparatuses. According to cybernetics, the human brain and nervous system coordinate information to determine which actions will be performed; control mechanisms for self-correction in machines serve a similar purpose. This principle, known as feedback , is the fundamental concept of automation. One of the basic tenets of cybernetics is that information can be statistically measured in accordance with the laws of probability. Purposive behavior in humans or in machines requires control mechanisms that maintain order by counteracting the natural tendency toward disorganization.
