Martin van den Berg is Professor in Veterinary Environmental Sciences and Toxicology, deputy director of the Institute of Risk Assessment Sciences(formerly RITOX) of the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands and head of the Toxicology Division of IRAS. The Toxicology Division of IRAS consists of 30 to 40 scientists, technicians and supporting staff. His teaching responsibilities are in the area of Environmental Sciences, Toxicology and Chemistry at both undergraduate and postgraduate level at the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, Biology, Medical Biology and Environmental Sciences. He is also appointed as an honorary professor in environmental toxicology at the University of Queensland (Brisbane) and an adjunct professor at the Asean Institute of Technology/Royal Chulabohorn Research Institute in Bangkok. In autumn 2006 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Umea, Sweden for his research on dioxinlike compounds.
His areas of research include: toxicokinetics, metabolism and reproductive and interactive effects of halogenated polyaromatics, interactions of xenobiotics on steroid hormone syhthesis, metabolism and their relation with hormone dependent tumors, development of in vitro assays to detect endocrine disruptors. These studies are done with mammals, birds and fish as well as in in vitro systems. The results of his scientific work and that of his research group have been published in more than 200 scientific articles and papers. He is a European registered toxicologist.

America's handiwork The above picture and countless others like it are also used to support the gassing claims when, in fact, the people who generally do this know perfectly well that not even one of the bodies shown in any photo, anywhere, is of someone killed with poison, or poison gas of any kind. Dr. Charles P. Larson, an American, was just one of the doctors specifically assigned to find forensic evidence of deaths from poison or gas and they all found nothing! Anne Frank was among the dead at Bergen-Belsen. She died there from typhus even though she had spent many months in Auschwitz in 1944. She had later been evacuated to Bergen-Belsen and died there just two weeks before the camp was turned over to a British medical team on April 15, 1945 as part of a negotiated truce which had been initiated by the SS. It was the British who had delayed the actual transfer of the camp for several days, perhaps even weeks, because of special security demands they had put upon the SS. See footnote 34 of my essay "

AC Toolbox
Universal Binary for Mac OS X: 4.4.1
Download links What is new What is old Additional information about algorithmic composition ... Home The AC Toolbox is a Macintosh application to assist the algorithmic composition of music. Version 4.4.1 requires system 10.3.9 or higher. It is an universal binary (Intel and PPC). Older versions which will run in MacOS 10.3, 10.2 and 8.6-9.x are also available. Several models for defining musical events are included. They can be used by defining objects such as sections, shapes, masks, or note structures. It is also possible to play, plot, modify, and examine objects in a number of ways. Extensive online help is available. In addition to Midi input and output, the AC Toolbox can produce files suitable for use as data in other programs. Score files for Csound and binary OSC files for SuperCollider can be produced. Realtime floating-point Midi output via a firewire interface to a Capybara is also supported. An important method of creating data in the Toolbox is the use of generators. A number of generators have been included reflecting various approaches to the creation of musical material including tendency masks, stochastic functions, chaotic systems, transition tables, recursive subdivisions, metric indispensabilities, morphological mutations, etc. The AC Toolbox is implemented in Lisp and input syntax reflects the conventions of this language. It is also possible for a user to extend the Toolbox by adding Lisp functions. Additional generators, tools, and transformers can be defined in Lisp to use with the Toolbox.

Cohen Papers, Ms. Coll. 48 26 linear feet American Philosophical Society 105 South Fifth Street Philadelphia, PA 19106-3386 Working on bacterial viruses in 1945, Seymour S. Cohen offered the first systematic exploration of the biochemistry of virus-infected cells and of how viruses multiply. His subsequent research included delineating the phenomenon of thymineless death, developing derivatives of ara-A compound, working on RNA synthesis, studying the effects of polyamines on metabolic systems, and studying plant viruses (including viral cations). Much of his research has contributed to the chemical treatment of cancer and viral infections. Seymour Stanley Cohen was born on 30 April 1917 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Boys' High School in Brooklyn and then received a B.S. from the City College of New York in 1936. He was married in 1940 to Elaine Pear and later had two children, Michael and Sara. Cohen studied biochemistry with Erwin Chargaff at Columbia University, where he received his PhD in 1941. He had an Abbott Laboratory Fellowship from 1940 to 1941. In his thesis, "The Thromboplastic Protein from Lungs," Cohen focused on the isolation of thromboplastin from beef lung and the chemical and immunological characterization of particles of lipoprotein containing RNA.

  • OVERVIEW ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS MAP DATA METADATA ... RELATED PUBLICATIONS
  • OVERVIEW
The CD-ROM product (Soller and Packard, 1998) contains explanatory text, digital map data in four data formats, and selected images of the map data accessible through a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. The CD-ROM can be read by computers running DOS, Macintosh, UNIX and Windows operating systems. The web site contains the explanatory text, images, and map data in two formats. Ten geologic and base cartographic themes, or data layers, are provided on the CDROM in SDTS, ARC/INFO Coverage, ARC/INFO Shape, and ARC/INFO Export v.7.0.4 formats (at the web site, in SDTS and ARC/INFO Shape formats). The map is divided into 23 4-degree-by-6-degree quadrangles. To allow this large map to be digitized, it was first subdivided into 23 quadrangles at 1:1,000,000-scale, and each was processed separately. Because the file size of the entire map area is quite large, the data are provided by 1:1,000,000 scale quadrangle area. This map is a regional overview and is intended to supplement the more detailed work on which it is based. Particularly in populated areas, detailed mapping is vital to site-specific planning. In contrast, regional maps such as this serve to place local, detailed mapping in context, to permit the extrapolation of data into unmapped areas, and to depict large-scale regional geologic features and patterns that are beyond the scope of local, detailed mapping. This map is also intended as a regional planning document that can assist in setting priorities for areas in need of more detailed mapping and assessment. It can be used to support regional decisionmaking on societal issues such as susceptibility of ground water in aquifers to contamination from surface-applied chemicals (see Soller and Berg, 1992). The map has also been used to help locate earthquake liquefaction features, by providing the regional framework needed to prioritize areas for detailed study.
