The Astrophysics Data System (ADS) is a NASA-funded project which maintains four bibliographic databases containing more than 4.4 million records: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Instrumentation, Physics and Geophysics, and preprints in Astronomy. The main body of data in the ADS consists of bibliographic records, which are searchable through our Abstract Service query forms , and full-text scans of much of the astronomical literature which can be browsed though our Browse interface . Integrated in its databases, the ADS provides access and pointers to a wealth of external resources, including electronic articles, data catalogs and archives. We currently have links to over 4.5 million records maintained by our collaborators.

Aims and Means Astronomy is the oldest of all sciences. It is also pluridisciplinar; not only do its most recent developments use all the disciplines of physics, but it also has links with chemistry, biology and the Earth sciences. Furthermore, the cultural and philosophical role of Astronomy is undisputed.

Through funding from NASA, faculty at Montana State University and classroom teachers from across the nation have developed an extensive library of on-line and interactive K-12 science education materials for teaching astronomy. Closely aligned with the NRC National Science Education Standards, these web based lessons make maximum use of exciting on-line NASA resources, data, and images. In addition to classroom-ready materials using contemporary teaching strategies, CERES has developed several on-line NASA data search engines and two graduate level distance learning courses, available over the internet to K-12 teachers.

Download H-R Calc Hertzprung-Russell Diagram Calculator
This freeware program by David C. Irizarry works on Windows 3.x and Windows 95. The compressed zip file that you will download here is only 319kB. When unzipped, it takes up 1.07 Mbytes of disk space. I have tried a lot of freeware and software in astronomy. I rate this a keeper. This is an excellent program, utilizing the Hertzprung-Russell Diagram. Find a star in the sky. Identify it using planetarium software. Then use this software to see where it falls on the H-R diagram. Discover its relative size to the sun, its surface temperature, its spectral class, its actual brightness, and other interesting facts about the star. It is well worth the small disk space and short download time. NOTE: This shareware version, though fully functional, has a built in time limit per session. You have the bother of having to reboot it after your session time runs out. If you like it, though, you can send in a check or money order to its author of $15 and be rid of that problem.

Ideas that will challenge your Mind!
By Donald Hamilton, author of "The MIND of Mankind"
The following links offer different perspectives on various subjects such as; Cosmology, Astronomy, the Origin and Nature of Mankind, Human Imagination and a lot more! Check them out! INERTIA - A PRIMARY LAW OF NATURE
- One of the most fundamental laws of nature is the "Inertia" phenomenon. Galileo experimented with it and Newton partially explained it with his famous mathematical equation (F=MA). HOW HUMAN IMAGINATION EFFECTS "FREE WILL" EVOLUTION BY DESIGN: Predetermined Randomness - Evolution may be a series of random mutations but the results end up just the way the 'Laws of Nature' intended. THE DEBATE BETWEEN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND GALILEO CONTINUES - It all began back in the 17th century when Galileo began offering observations that supported Copernicus’s theory that the planet Earth was revolving around the sun rather then the sun revolving around a stationary Earth." THE PERSONALITY OF THE UNIVERSE HOW GOD CREATED THE UNIVERSE - "God is not a king who sits up on some faraway throne directing the actions of the universe. "God" is an Infinite Creative Power who created the “Laws of Nature” and thereby brought the universe into existence. " DEVELOP A POWERFUL IMAGINATION -"It is your ultimate power and can be the key to yor success. Being human - we all have been given the potential to develop a powerful 'creative imagination' to use for our benefit and possibly the benefit of all mankind."
