In the upcoming movie The Weatherman starring Nick Cage, a weatherman that appears to be a non-meteorologist works two hours a day and seems to more or less "wing it' from what I have seen of the trailers. In real life, hundreds of hard-working meteorologists are struggling with pages and pages of data to give you the BEST possible forecast and beat out the competition. Those that are really "into it" usually come out on top. Such a real weatherman is Boston TV Meteorologist Todd Gross. Todd was depicted by actor Christopher McDonald in the movie The Perfect Storm, and that character is much more true to life of today's true-blue TV Meteorologists than what this movie appears to portray. Todd has written a short book on becoming a TV meteorologist, check it out.
