Home New! Read my HeldAir Maritiem airshow report
Saturday, 15th of December 2007 The year 2007 is about to end and I think it is time for me to review the year. There were some great airshows I have visited, like the Den Helder Maritiem and Royal International Air Tattoo . I've added 73 photos this year to the website of which now I will discuss my top 5, starting with number 5.
Number 5
This red/yellow SAR helicopter in combination with the blue sky and green grass makes it almost a painting. With the effect of landing clearly visible in this photo in combination with cable master (sorry, don't know the correct name for it) guiding this pilot, makes it a simple, but stunning photo and brings it on a worthy number 5 position.
Number 4
This photo is all about timing and settings. This C-130 is just retracting his gear, which makes it a nicely timed photo. However, with the full rotation of the propellers, it also shows of the skills of good camera settings. You need a long shutter time for this effect, while having a too long shutter time will result in a motion blurred photo. Keep in mind that this beast is coming for me at more than 200km/h. The final result of timing and camera settings makes this a number 4 position.
Number 3
Although this picture doesn't have the quality standard as all the others in my top 5, it still deserves a number three position. The pilot in this Piper Cub was a real dare devil by landing on one wheel only, while almost hitting the ground with his right wing in a very controlled maneuvre. In my opinion, the speed of the aeroplane and the bravery of the pilot is nicely captured, hence the number three position.

The committee was charged with identifying and prioritizing the most important challenges in wake turbulence, and assessing current federal and nonfederal research. The committee identified nine technical and two organizational challenges to overcoming wake turbulence. The report includes metrics and milestones for each technical challenge, as well as a program plan that prioritizes different tasks during different time periods.
