Could it be that a fractal image is of such extraordinary richness, that it is bound to resonate with our neuronal circuits and stimulate the pleasure I infer we all feel?

Chaos, by Julian Gollop
Julian Gollop is perhaps one of the finest computer game designers ever. He's responsible for some of the best games ever written including the X-com games and UFO: Enemy Unknown. However, my favourite has to be one of his first creations - Chaos : The Battle of theWizards. Written in 1984 for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, it is in my opinion one of the top 3 computer games ever written.

Score: 8.5 / 10 Pros: - Great multiplayer gaming - Innovative taunting-powered Super Attacks - Tons of fighting and defensive moves Cons: - Enemies follow predictable, patterned attacks on some levels - Needed more variety of levels - Shao Ting’s puns - No Xbox Live support Related Links Review: Mario Party 4 (GC) Review: Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus (XB) Review: Dead or Alive 3 (XB) "This game is chaotic Kung Fu brawling at its finest." No offense to the Karate Kid, but fitting Kung Fu Chaos into a particular gaming genre is harder than trying to catch a fly with chopsticks. At its heart, it’s a fighting game. But Kung Fu Chaos could also be described as a party game chock full of mini-games, a la Nintendo’s Mario Party. Throw in some 70’s music, a ton of bad puns, chop-socky humor, cartoony, bobble-headed characters and what you have is Kung Fu Chaos, which may be best described as a solid fighter that likes to party hearty. This game is chaotic Kung Fu brawling at its finest. The premise of the game is that you are working on the newest low-budget movie of Golden Marvelous Productions under the creative control of loudmouth Hong Kong fighting flick director Shao Ting, who like his name, reels off one bad pun after another in the game’s cut-scenes that introduce each level. Kung Fu Chaos tries to be funny, it really does. But there are just too many unfunny wisecracks from Shao Ting (Shao Ting = shouting, get it? Yeah, I know not funny) to consider Kung Fu Chaos a humorous game.

Chaos Theory: A Brief Introduction
What exactly is chaos? The name "chaos theory" comes from the fact that the systems that the theory describes are apparently disordered, but chaos theory is really about finding the underlying order in apparently random data. When was chaos first discovered? The first true experimenter in chaos was a meteorologist, named Edward Lorenz. In 1960, he was working on the problem of weather prediction. He had a computer set up, with a set of twelve equations to model the weather. It didn't predict the weather itself. However this computer program did theoretically predict what the weather might be. One day in 1961, he wanted to see a particular sequence again. To save time, he started in the middle of the sequence, instead of the beginning. He entered the number off his printout and left to let it run. When he came back an hour later, the sequence had evolved differently. Instead of the same pattern as before, it diverged from the pattern, ending up wildly different from the original. (See figure 1.) Eventually he figured out what happened. The computer stored the numbers to six decimal places in its memory. To save paper, he only had it print out three decimal places. In the original sequence, the number was .506127, and he had only typed the first three digits, .506.
By all conventional ideas of the time, it should have worked. He should have gotten a sequence very close to the original sequence. A scientist considers himself lucky if he can get measurements with accuracy to three decimal places. Surely the fourth and fifth, impossible to measure using reasonable methods, can't have a huge effect on the outcome of the experiment. Lorenz proved this idea wrong.

37. Game Revolution Review Page - Game Revolution
The concept is good, the story is even better, and the environment is top notch. But the bad control and poor camera angles mixed with crummy graphics make Urban chaos difficult to play for more than an hour at a time. The whole port feels rushed, and I would have gladly waited a couple more months for a polished version. Review by Shawn Sparks with score.

Bad cop, NO DONUT!!!
At first glance, Urban Chaos seems to be an interesting mixture of Fighting Force and Syndicate Wars ; take a beat-'em-up engine and mix with a story of gangs uniting and taking over the city. Throw in some big, immersive environments, and you get a pretty solid game. But while decent on the PC , the PSX version leaves something to be desired. Urban Chaos starts off with a killer intro movie, bringing you right up to speed with the story. It's New Years Eve, turn of the millennium, but that doesn't stop the street gang known as the Wildcats from wreaking havoc and generally making things a little uncomfortable for the citizens of Union City. You play D'Arcy, a rookie cop doing your damnedest to keep crime rates down and prove yourself to your superiors, but the Wildcats are a force to be reckoned with, and the streets are mean. The game has the typical list of moves for a beat-'em-upper: punch, kick, dodge, etc., but what good is being a cop if you can't bust the baddies? So the nice developers at Mucky Foot added the option of knocking them to the ground, cuffing them and hauling them downtown. The arrest option gets the heathen scum out of your face ASAP, which is a good thing when you're trapped in an alley with four armed psychos.

You press your ear to the door, and can faintly hear the sound of people clapping. You try the knob, but in vain-it's locked, and has obviously been so for quite a while, due to the rust gathering on the iron. Throwing your hands up, you venture further into the large room. Directly in front of you are a stairwell, ascending up into darkness, and a set of doors. One is a stone opening, with nothing between them- even the hings have rusted away-and an odd little door.
