http://www.nscl.msu.edu/~tsang/SMAUG_Manual1/ACommands.html
AD*DSPC This command will do linear arithematic (add, subtract and multiply spectrum with a constant) between two (or more) spectra and store the result in the first spectrum given. All of the spectra that are being manipulated must have the same dimensions and BPC value as the first spectrum given. Otherwise the program will reject the offending spectrum. ‘Spectrum to alter?’ asks for name of the first spectrum in the summing process. This is the spectrum that all of the results will be stored in. ‘Spectrum to add in?’ will asks for name(s) of the spectra to sum into the first spectrum. It will prompt you for each spectrum name individually. If a multiplicative constant is desired to multiply this spectra with, the input format will be : Spectrum name/constant- where constant is a REAL*4 number. If you wish to terminate the summing session, simply return without typing any characters, and the program will return to the main command loop. If you leave before you have successfully given it spectrum names, no spectra will be altered.
ADEF*INE This will tell SMAUG that you wish to move some (or all) of the spectra to the AED common block so that the AED display program can display them onto the AED terminal.

Danish Pastry,
Very good point. I understand the formulation of the slope and my
method to calculate the mean. Qualitatively, what does taking the
slope explain? This seems to be a weighted average of some sort.
You totally misunderstood what I'm saying. I did *NOT* set up one
experiment with a constant. Let me re-clarify what I did.
1. In my first experiment, I simply took the arithematic average of
the P/B ratio of all 487 points. P/B is simply the market cap of
the
stock divided by the book value of the company. So to find the
average (market capped weighted, essentially), summed up the entire of these 487 companies. Now i have 2 very, very large numbers. When I divide the first of these numbers (total Market Cap which exceeds $12T) by the second, I get 2.85. 2. In my second experiment, I decided to regress the market cap (MC) to the BV without including a constant. It was found that the slope relating the BV to the MC (the P/B ratio) was 2.50. This value is

Here's the problem :
some sort of like this. parksie Jul 6th, 2002, 08:01 AM Look up (on google) converting between postfix and infix expressions.
Although most of the time I'd just get the user to do that and make them put it in in the form:
(that *should* produce the right output, I can't test it since I've still got to recover the code for my stack evaluator).
Basically, you have everything on a stack, so you push 34 and 45 on, then use the * operator to replace those with (34*45). And so on. It's a lot easier for the computer to process because there's no way for it to be ambiguous. myname Jul 8th, 2002, 03:58 AM Is there any other way apart from using stacks for it ? kedaman Jul 8th, 2002, 05:05 AM

Percentage Arithematic and Ass are reports....
Overheard an interesting telephone conversation :
Other guy : (Can't hear what he is saying, he is on the other end of the line)
This guy : Yes, I've tested all the reports, settlement report is not working...
Other guy : (seems to ask something about percentage of reports not working or something)
This guy : 50% of reports are failing, 50% of reports are timing out and 50% of reports are working
Other guy : (seems to comment on the weird percentage logic)
This guy : Yes its 50-50, 50% are working and 50% are failing.....
Other guy : (seems to ask for the overall estimate)
This guy : In total its 70% working and 30% failing...
Other guy : (no idea what he says)
This guy : No, all my estimates are approximates...yes approximates...... Other guy : (again no idea what he says) This guy : In total all reports sometimes working sometimes failing.... Other guy : (no idea what he says) This guy : Ass are reports timeout expired....... I finally realized that "Ass are" reports are "SR" reports.....but the percentage arithematic is still beyond me..... Posted by M at 11:25 AM

April 2006 Junior Member Hi,
I want to find difference between two datetime fields in mins:secs.
When I am trying the following query, the output is of format "+000000000 00:02:39.245744".
select JOB_END_TS - JOB_START_TS TIME from job_list
Is the output an Interval type or a Float type.
Please also help me how to display only in mins:secs, i.e. removing all unnecessary zeroes.
