Publications - Psychology of Religion Faith and Psychology: personality, religion and the individual Once seen as a major enemy of faith, psychology is now recognised as a key ally and friend by many Christians. In this clear and challenging book Leslie J. Francis demonstrates how the theory of psychological type can help us to understand better the shape of our personal spirituality, our preferences in public worship and the nature of our religious experience.
Personality Type and Scripture The Personality Type and Scripture series covers all three years of the Lectionary cycle. The series supports those who use the Lectionary each year as part of their Bible reading. Jung's theory of psychological type distinguishes between the four functions of sensing, intuition, thinking, and feeling. These books use Jungian type theory to explore the passages as they appear in the Revised Common Lectionary. The insights gained provide a resource for teachers and leaders, as well as a key tool for personal meditation. Leslie J Francis is a Chartered Psychologist, Anglican priest and, Professor of Practical Theology in the University of Wales, Bangor.

Being an autobiographical novel and dissertation on the utter Hell brought to the modern world by a guru of India Sinbad The Sailor, by Paul Klee mailto:poowyll@msn.com Supplementary Materials Index of India docs The Gospels Unified The essence of India's historic Shyaam/Krishna is rapine, violence (war or murder) and deception (lies, fraud and seduction), effected by powers of mind, while the metaphysical essence lies in yoga and philosophy like vishista-advaita a construct and composition not in accord with history. The disparity leads to mental and social disorders. * . . . while yet another Krishna was a 'loud-yelling' non-Aryan asura chieftain of the Jamnaa region who led a 'godless legion' of ten thousand followers and committed great havoc until he was defeated and skinned by Indra. One Krishna was also a Dravidian god of youth. A Vedic passage speaks of a leader of fifty thousand Krishnas, who was captured and slain together with all his pregnant wives so that he might leave no issue. There is evidence to suggest that he was 'a hater of the braahmanic faith' who declared, "I will surely cause the worship of cows, through force if need be' (IV, P. 173).

http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Psychology/psych.htm
Psychology
Science or Religion?*
What William Law wrote two centuries ago is even more evident today: "Man needs to be saved from his own wisdom as much as from his own righteousness, for they produce one and the same corruption." It is paradoxical that at a time when secular psychological researchers are demonstrating less confidence in psychological counseling, more and more professing Christians are pursuing it. "Christian" counseling centers are springing up all over the nation offering what many believe is the perfect combination: Christianity plus psychology. Furthermore, Christians who are not even in the counseling ministry look to psychologists for advice on how to live, how to relate to others, and how to meet the challenges of life. In their attempts to be relevant, many preachers, teachers, counselors, and writers promote a psychological perspective of life rather than a Biblical one. The symbol of psychology overshadows the cross of Christ, and psychological jargon contaminates the Word of God. Psychology is a subtle and widespread leaven in the Church. It has permeated the entire loaf and is stealthily starving the sheep. It promises far more than it can deliver and what it does deliver is not the food that nourishes. Yet multitudes of professing Christians view psychology with respect and awe.
