“Kupiec painted the intimate portraits of Book One with the emotional precision of a world-class actor. Each life vignette was imbued with a new colour, sweeping us into compelling fictions...”
Sun Herald , May 2005
“Kupiec brought a persuasive intensity to this series, following each startling melodic trajectory with clear dedication.”

KEYBOARD The Keyboard Chamber Music Area of the Moores School of Music offers coachings in two-piano and four-hand literature as well as literature with mixed instrumentation. Students of all levels are able to enroll; subsequently, their playing levels and interests are assessed and matched, creating the ideal learning environment. At the end of each semester, jury examinations are held in an open format, with all students enrolled present to serve as a supportive audience. Crossover coachings with other areas are encouraged so that students receive highly-detailed instruction. These coachings are coordinated by the chamber music area directors. An example of the product of crossover coaching is the Moores Piano Trio (Mikylah Myers - violin, Erika Johnson - cello, and Tomoko Isshiki, piano). This trio, having been coached by Cellist Laszlo Varga and Pianist Timothy Hester, achieved success on a national level by winning the silver medal in the 2000 Carmel Chamber Music Competition. Pre-formed groups are encouraged to enroll. For example, if a group would like to organize their own 'named' ensemble, they may work on approved literature and are encouraged to pursue national competitions and festivals to help establish future careers in chamber music.

This and That Save the Date CountryFest 2003 In the coming weeks you will hear a lot about COUNTRYFEST, a Cincinnati Country Day School tradition. COUNTRYFEST provides a day of fun for the entire school while raising funds for the Parents Association. This year, COUNTRYFEST will be on Friday, May 9 th . We hope this later date will allow outdoor activities targeted at entertaining the entire student body. The traditional Spaghetti Dinner will be offered again in the Dining Terrace from 4:30-6:30PM. Mark your calendar for a day of fun without the dirty dishes! You may pre-purchase tickets for the carnival and Spaghetti Dinner. An order form will be sent home with your younger child on April 3 rd . Order forms will also be available by downloading from the countryday.net site. COUNTRYFEST will also offer a cool new t-shirt to commemorate the day! These may be pre-purchased as well. Once again this year, you may support this wonderful event by sponsoring a game or activity booth. The cost to sponsor is $125.00 and may be purchased by families, classrooms, businesses or anyone interested in supporting this special event. The extra funds will provide the necessary means to expand COUNTRYFEST offerings. Sponsors will be recognized on a placard located at their booth as well as a poster at the front door to the event. Anyone interested in sponsorships should contact Laing Higgins at 533-1395, or mail donations to Laing at 2825 Ambleside Place.
