Toscanini (1867-1957) werd geboren in Parma als oudste van vier kinderen en enige zoon van Paola Montani en Claudio Toscanini. Op 9-jarige leeftijd begon Arturo al aan zijn studie aan de Koninklijke School voor Muziek van Parma om er negen jaar later met eervolle vermeldingen af te studeren op cello en compositie. Zijn reputatie als zeer getalenteerd en bevlogen was gevestigd. Het jaar na zijn afstuderen, werd hij aanvoerder van de celli en assistent van de koormeester van een Italiaanse operavereniging, die op het punt stond te gaan toeren door Zuid-Amerika. Spontini di Ascoli Piceno alla V.a Rassegna Nazionale Giovani Musicisti svoltasi al Palazzo Barberini di Roma, suscitando reazioni entusiastiche da parte di musicisti autorevoli come Pradella e altri. In seguito al diploma, ottenuto brillantemente al Conservatorio "D'Annunzio" di Pescara, si perfeziona prima con il M° Bellante, segue poi i corsi del M° A. Pay, frequenta i corsi biennali: all'Accademia Picena di Ascoli con il M.° Petrocchi per il clarinetto e Bo Price per la musica da camera; l'Ars Accademy di Roma con il M.° C.Coggi. L'attività artistica di Albertini è indirizzata verso tre settori specifici, ma complementari: quello cameristico, didattico ed orchestrale.
