Jonas Johansen m. MOVE Tirsdag, den 21. september, kl. 19.30 I Skive Theater-foyer Jonas Johansens orkester, MOVE, er et af de stærkeste kort inden for nutidig, skandinavisk jazz. Fuldstændigt suverænt i sammenspillet og næsten umuligt at hamle op med, når det gælder de solistiske præstationer. Gennem 12 år har musikerne fundet deres eget, markante, musikalske udtryk med vægt på melodien, den musikalske dynamik og den enkelte solists muligheder for at sætte sit personlige præg på de enkelte numre. 3 anmelderroste CDer er det foreløbig blevet til og en omfattende både inden- og udenlandsk turnévirksomhed. Kapelmesteren selv har gennem de sidste 15 år været en af landets førende og højest profilerede trommeslagere og træffes derfor også i mange andre sammenhænge, bl.a. som efterhånden mangeårigt medlem af NHØP-trio. Her får vi lejligheden til at høre ham med barndomskammeraten Frederik Lunding, der med sin både følsomme og karske stemme på saxofonen fremtræder som et af de helt store, originale talenter i sin generation. Det samme er faktisk blevet sagt, både om kvartettens pianist, Ben Besiakov og om den unge bassist, Anders Christensen. Begge musikere, som der konstant er bud efter, og som uden forbehold kan karakteriseres ved deres internationale klasse.

Who are some of the more prominent performers who have appeared at the festival in recent years? Just a few we have had are Gidon Kremer, Maxim Vengerov, Joshua Bell, Christian Tetzlaff, Barbara Hendricks, Ian Bostridge (who will come back next year), Stephen Isserlis and Heinrich Schiff. Matthias Goerne will also come next year. Tell us a little about the programming for this summer. We are doing some odd things, like these short dramas by Schumann ("Die Fluchtlinge") and Schubert, "Leb wohl, du schoene Erde" with Julia Stemberger, who is a very famous Austrian actress. She’s performing in Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire th , which opens with the Risor Festival Strings performing some Schubert "Dances" for orchestra, then a piece by our composer-in-residence, then some Schubert Ländler for solo piano that I will play, a string quartet by Kurtág performed by the Artemis Quartet, and then the Schubert Piano Trio, D. 898. The program is mixed in terms of performers and also in terms of how familiar the music is to the listeners. How are the programs determined?

Featured         A r t i s t       Leif Ove         A n d s n e s Leif Ove Andsnes, born in 1970 on Karmøy in western Norway, enjoys the position as one of the greatest musicians of his generation in his native country. He entered the Bergen Music Conservatory in 1986, where he studied under Jiri Hlinka, and has through the past decade gradually fortified his position among the firsts of pianists. Andsnes has since his debut, appeared with several of the worlds principal orchestras, such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Boston Symphony, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philharmonia, and the Oslo Philarmonic Orchestra. He also enjoys a reputation as an outstanding recitalist, and has appeared at the most prestigious musical centras in London, Vienna, Berlin, Amsterdam, New York, etc. Leif Ove Andsnes has recieved numerous awards, including the Hindemith prize (Frankfurt 87), the Grieg prize (Bergen 90) and a Dorothy B. Chandler Performing Arts Award in 1992. In 1997 he was awarded the Gilmore prize (USA). He has twice recieved the prestigious Deutschen Schallplattenkritikprice:The first for his Janácek disc, the second for his Schumann disc, for which he also recieved a Grammy-nomination.
