PROVINCE OF HAVANA Population: 1,544,000 Area: 3,180 square miles Capital: Havana RURAL HAVANA PROVINCE is one of the wealthiest parts of Cuba, both industrially and agriculturally. Fishing is a leading sport while the province's fine white beaches draw visitors and residents alike. Among the numerous sugar mills in the inland section is the famous Central Hershey. Off the south coast lies the Isle of Pines (see separate listing at end of Havana Province). HAVANA, Cuba's capital, plus its sister-city MARIANAO, boast a population of over a million. A fascinating blend of the old and the modern, Havana exerts over visitors a beguiling charm. Founded in 1515, the city is proud of its great National University, its beautiful government buildings, its fine hotel and parks. English is spoken widely and there are many social and cultural organizations. In the spacious harbor, passengers and cargo vessels from all over the earth drop anchor. Marianao, across the Almendares River, is one of the loveliest "home" cities of the world. Here are found beautiful residential sections as well as many attractive beach clubs.

Next THE ING FAMILY IN 1986 THOMAS AND MARTHA (FORSBURY) ING Thomas George Ing of the London area was born in April 1835. His father was Robert Ing, but I have found no record of his mother's name. At the age of 30, Thomas married Martha Jane Forsbury on December l9th 1865, at Bethnal Green (a hamlet in the London area). Martha was the daughter of James Forsbury, who worked as a carman (probably for the railway). Again, the mother's name was omitted from the record. Since Martha was born in London's Paddington district on August l0th, 1847, she was 18 years old at the time she married. Martha had a sister Mary and a brother George . She also had a half-brother James Waller who went to Australia. Mary Forsbury married Jack Shipgood. Their family were Eliza, Elizabeth, Mary, Nellie, Alice and Jack. Eliza married Alfred Goss. Their family are Sydney, Walter, Ernest, Donald, Bert, and an adopted girl Cissy. Thomas and Martha Ing had a family of 10 children. Five of them died very young.
