Welcome To St. Thomas Aquinas
Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic School was founded in 1989 in order to provide a quality Catholic education to the youngest members of our parish. Over 375 children attend classes ranging from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade.
Facilities include eight classroom pods each housing four classrooms, a large cafeteria, a full size gymnasium, science lab, library, computer lab, playgrounds and soccer field. Saint Thomas is a closed, fenced campus, and visitors must register with the school office.
In the 2006 Science Fair Competition, Saint Thomas Aquinas students took six first place, two second place, and four third place titles out of fifteen categories at the Osceola County Middle School Science Fair. This year Osceola County was allowed to send four middle school students to State Science Fair, and St. Thomas is proud to announce that our students won three out of the four places.
In addition to religious studies and outstanding academics, Saint Thomas also offers a terrific sports program for student athletes. Sports offered include soccer, basketball, track, volleyball and cheerleading.

The same must be true for us. God did not make us to be smiling masochists, and sharing the sufferings of the Lamb in the ordinary down times of our own lives is more than sufficient. Secondly, Jesus knew that talya, the Aramaic word for sheep, can also mean servant. The first hearers of this gospel also knew that. Jesus, then, is the servant who brings us the truth we need for life, and answers our deepest desires to know that our lives have meaning and purpose. He is the one who opens for us the life beyond this life, where there will be no more weeping or sadness. When we are baptized into the death of Jesus and enter his service, we also share his resurrection and glory. He is the one who bears - and bears away - the sins of the world.

Duns Scotus
Saint Thomas Aquinas (from the Encyclopedia Britannica 1978 edition) Download in Word (right click and Save Target As) St. Thomas Aquinas was a Christian philosopher who developed his own conclusions from Aristotelian premises, notably in the metaphysics of personality, creation, and Providence; a theologian responsible in his two masterpieces, the Summa theologiae and the Summa contra gentiles , for the classical systematisation of Latin theology; and a poet who wrote some of the most gravely beautiful eucharistic hymns in the church's liturgy. Although many modern Roman Catholic theologians do not find him altogether congenial, he is recognized by the Catholic Church as its foremost Western philosopher and theologian. Early years Thomas was born in 1224/1225, at Roccasecca, near Aquino, on the road from Rome to Naples, where his parents were in possession of a modest feudal domain on a boundary constantly disputed by the emperor and the pope. His father was of Lombard origin; his mother was of the later invading Norman strain. His people were distinguished in the service of Emperor Frederick II during the civil strife in southern Italy between the papal and imperial forces. Thomas was placed in the monastery of Monte Cassino near his home as an oblate (i.e., offered as a prospective monk) when he was still a young boy; his family doubtless hoped that he would someday become abbot to their advantage.
