Robert Otto Frisch
Otto Robert Frisch was born in Vienna on 1st October 1904. His father was a printer and his mother a gifted musician. He showed an early gift for mathematics, but in 1922 entered the University of Vienna to study physics, feeling that a career in mathematics would be too dry and abstract. In the 1920s Austrian physics courses did not offer a bachelor's degree, so Frisch graduated with a Dr Phil. in 1926. He then spent a year in a private laboratory that manufactured X-ray dosimeters, devices that measure the amount of radiation a person has absorbed. Germany, 1927-1933

Otto is a regular closing act at Caroline's on Broadway, The Riviera in Las Vegas, and every major comedy club in the country. He was a featured performer on Showtime's "Comedy's Dirtiest Dozen," Penn & Teller's TV Specials, The Playboy Channel and HBO. Howard Stern. George Carlin attended Otto's show, saying that he had heard about Otto for years and just had to make time to come see him. Mr. Carlin later said that the one hour ride to see Otto was well worth the trip and that he loved Otto's work and bold approach to stand up comedy. Otto and George's truly tasteless and twisted comedy is a no holds barred show. If you like your comedy completely over the line, this is a must see! Louise Otto-Peters
Louise Otto's role in the pre-1848 and the revolution was primarily publicistic, as writer and as speaker. In the early 1840s she first began to write novels, short stories, poetry, and a steady stream of polemic articles in journals edited by Robert Blum, Ernst Keil, and others. Under a pseudonym of Otto Stern as well as her own name, she discussed the role of women in politics, the need to organize women workers, and the value of political poetry. By 1849, she founded the weekly newspaper, Frauen-Zeitung (Women's Newspaper), which continued to exist until 1852 despite censorship and frequent harassment. Although the German women's movement was not formally organized until 1865, this early paper, with contributors from throughout Germany, allowed group of progressive women to reach the general public with their own gender-based demand for reform. Feminist scholars in history and literature have re-discovered and recognized Louise Otto. German women, especially her work in the revolutionary decade, despite Otto's long career as novelist, feminist activist, and public figure. As founder of the bourgeois German women's movement, especially after her founding of the National Organization for German Women in 1865, her outspoken liberal stance in the 1840s was remarkable. Although Clara Zetkin considered her an ideological prisoner of her class, Louise Otto was unique among her feminist contemporaries, keenly interested in working-class women, which reflected her broad democratic commitments. Pimarily interested in middle-class women, she supported the rights and privileges of all women, most directly seamstresses, about whom she wrote several articles. She also delivered public lectures which in in 1869 led to the founding of a women workers' organization in Berlin.

An industrial physicist and physical chemist who is known for her work in surface chemistry. She is especially known for her work in monomolecular and multilayer films (termed "Blodgett films") and her invention of non-reflecting ("invisible") glass, which is used in optical instruments.
    Brown, Robert
Although primarily a botanist, Brown is known to colloid science for his 1827 discovery that dispersed particles in water move about randomly, even when the water itself appears motionless. The phenomenon, explained later by others, is due to bombardments of the particles by water molecules and is known as Brownian motion.
    Coulter, Wallace
An electrical engineer best known as the discoverer of the Coulter principle, a sensing-zone method for automatically counting and sizing microscopic particles suspended in a liquid. He developed this into the "Coulter Counter" which was first applied to the complete blood count diagnostic test, and later applied to other colloids in a variety of other industries.

Otto Stern wurde am 18. Februar 1888 in Sohrau, Schlesien geboren.
