Mi rivolgo ai delegati incaricati di celebrare durante l'Anno Mondiale della Fisica 2005, la fantastica produttività di un impiegato dell'Ufficio Brevetti di Berna, in Svizzera.
La produttività di Einstein non è stata eguagliata . . ancora. Proprio ciò dovrebbe invogliare tutti noi a lavore duro per trovare i nuovi, giovani Einstein del 21° secolo, sia che essi si trovino in uno sporco villaggio nella giungla o in una baracca di Calcutta o di Chicago o che provengano dai ricchi sobborghi di Londra o New York.
La legge delle probabilità e' dalla nostra parte e fra gli oramai oltre 6 miliardi di persone deve esistere un cervello capace di elaborare una nuova teoria della relatività quantistica, o sul funzionamento della coscienza umana o una soluzione per i nuovi mali mondiali, inclusi cancro e povertà.
Non potendo riconoscere nel bimbo quello che sara' da adulto, dobbiamo trattare tutti i bambini come dei grandi geni espandendo enormemente i nostri sforzi di scolarizzazione a quei milioni di bambini che normalmente ne sono esclusi.
i vantaggi di un così massiccio sforzo educazionale non potranno che essere enormi.
