Albert Einstein: 1879 - 1955
Explanation:
Albert Einstein is considered by many the greatest astrophysicist. He is pictured here in the Swiss Patent Office where he did much of his great work. Einstein 's many visionary scientific contributions include the equivalence of mass and energy (E=mc^2), how the maximum speed limit of light affects measurements of time and space ( special relativity ), and a more accurate theory of gravity based on simple geometric concepts ( general relativity ). One reason Einstein was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics was to make the prize more prestigious. Tomorrow's picture: A Galaxy Gravitational Lens Archive Glossary Education About APOD ... USRA

About this website (Sept. 2005) : This website is 2 years old, has 300 pages, and gets about 20,000 page visits a day . Its main function is to show that the most simple solution for describing physical reality, the Wave Structure of Matter (WSM) in Space, does actually work (the problems have been caused by the 'Particle' conception of matter in 'Space-Time', as Einstein realised). Now we realise that most people are not into physics, philosophy or metaphysics. However, most people do care about the world that we live in, and the future world that we are creating for our children. And it is pretty obvious that truth and reality (those much abused terms) are the two most important subjects for Humanity to understand if we are to build a better world. Our aim is to get these various WSM subject pages in the top ten in Google so that this knowledge of the Wave Structure of Matter (WSM) is at least known and considered. To achieve this we really need your help to add links to this website . If we can convince just 1% of people (100 people a day) to donate 5 minutes of their time to help then we will easily succeed in achieving this over the next year or so (as most of our pages currently rank in the top 50 in Google for relevant search terms).
Finally, our

Albert Einstein Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany on 14th of March 1879. Five years later, in 1884, he and his family moved to Munich because of his father's new job. In 1901 he was being naturalized as a Swiss citizen. Eight years later as a Swiss Einstein became professor of theoretical physics at the University of Zurich. From 1911 to 1912 he had the same job as a professor in Prague. In 1913 he was chosen to join the Academy of Science in Berlin. Einstein recieved his German nationality back in 1914. He worked for 19 years as professor in Berlin. He was able to be a special professor in Leiden, Holland, from 1920 to 1946 officially also, but because of his emigration, he didn't work for the university for a long time before 1946. Because of the NAZI's, Einstein renounced the German citizenship in 1933. He moved to the United States and worked as a professor in Princeton, New Jersey until 1945. He officially became American in 1941. Albert Einstein died on the 18th of April 1955.
Albert Einstein And Nuclear Power Nuclear Energy is based on this: atomic nuclei are built of protons and neutrons. The mass of the nucleus is always a little smaller than the mass of all neutrons and protons together. We call this difference the "mass defect". According to Einstein's Theory of Relativity which he finished in 1915, E=mc2, there is a certain similarity between mass and energy. This means that the neutrons and protons contain more energy when they're split up. This amount of energy is similar to the mass defect. The mass

140. My Saturday Afternoons With Albert Einstein
Veteran journalist Ralph D. Gardner's intimate reminiscence of his childhood friendship with albert einstein.
http://www.evesmag.com/einstein.htm
My Saturday Afternoons with Albert Einstein By Ralph D. Gardner Courtesy of the Archives of the Institute for Advanced Study Albert Einstein in his office at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, 1954. Ralph Gardner, 12, on a bench in Washington Square Park, the year 1935 By Ralph D. Gardner Being only eleven at the time, I had no idea that the year I was introduced to Albert Einstein 1934 was among the most crucial in his life. During his visit to the United States, the Nazi government in Germany, where he was born in 1879, confiscated his property and revoked his citizenship. To Einstein, the most prominent scientist of this century and, at the time, an outspoken critic of Adolf Hitler, the German action was no surprise and, on receiving this news, Einstein accepted an offer to join the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, where he remained until his death in 1955. During my own career in journalism here and abroad I met heads-of-state, military leaders, literary giants and entertainers, but I do not recall a more companionable gentleman than Albert Einstein. Perhaps I was invited to meet him because I could speak German, a result of living with my maternal grandparents. My grandmother and her family arrived from what was then Bohemia when she was an infant. Though English was spoken to others, they conversed in German among themselves. Daily, at mid-morning, the family gathered for coffee at my grandmother’s brownstone, and though little was said to me, I absorbed the language.
