Who are the tutors?
The lab supplies peer tutors who have taken a variety of Math classes and have a good understanding of the materials covered in those classes. For a complete listing of who works when, you can view the Math Tutors Schedule What can I expect from them?
They are here to help you find the answers to questions on Math course work only. They do not know all the answers but they should be able to help with most questions and guide you to further resources when necessary. What should I not expect from them?
You probably would not expect them to help with your English assignments. This is an unfair assumption. If you need assistance specific to your Business, English, Spanish, Nutrition, Drafting or Accounting classes, we will try to help, but it is possible that they only answer we will have to you is that you need to check with your instructor. What do you expect from me?

Parent Recommendations for math tutors
Jun 15 2005 Aaron Mazel Gee has tutored my son Pablo, a freshman at Berkeley High since September 2004. The whole experience has been very pleasant. Once a week Aaron would call to reconfirm the time and place and make sure it worked for everyone. Then when he would get together with Pablo, he would explain the math and help Pablo with his homework. Pablo was always happy to go and liked the way Aaron worked with him. The result has been very satisfying. Pablo has good grades and seems to understand what math is all about. I recommend Aaron wholeheartedly. He is patient, fun, accommodating and knows how to talk to younger kids. Needless to say, he has a very advanced understanding of math as well as good teaching skills. Sincerely, Catherine - Jun 10 2005 I would like to recommend an excellent math tutor, Aaron Mazel-Gee. He has helped my son a great deal to catch up and cope with his high school math analysis class. I feel that my son feels as ease with him because they are so close in age and Aaron never talks down to his students; Aaron is young enough to easily connect with the high school students he works with. Aside from being a great role model, he is very conscientious and dedicated. He is prepared to assist with students in high school math, advanced math and SAT. Contact Aaron at aaronmazelgee AT yahoo.com.

We have a tutor coming over to the house and between your software and him she got her first "A" in a very hard chapter test. As you might know sometimes when you see a different approach on a problem or sometimes just someone else showing you different ways to understand the problem that is all it takes. Your software seems to give this problem solving approach in a way that is easy to understand. Thanks again, the whole Turley family. Math tutors losing students, money
By Matthew Engelhaupt Published: Tuesday, October 14, 2003 They are lurking in every classroom. They consist of two words and seven digits. They say: "Math Tutor."
These signs taunt struggling students, forcing them to ponder the possibilities, and sometimes leave them no choice but to pick up the phone.
Paul Tucker, a former psychology teacher, offers assistance in math and statistics for students. Even though he is tutoring about 50 people this quarter, he is not as busy now as he once was.
"Ohio State changed its entrance requirements starting about 10 years ago, and what has happened, in particular in the last five years, is that my tutoring income has basically dried up," Tucker said. "Fewer people are taking remedial math or freshman level math; most are starting at a higher level."
Deciding whether to take advantage of these outside sources or to receive assistance provided by the university is usually dependent on the amount of help a student needs.
