Water stored under the earth's surface is a plentiful, yet precious, resource in most areas of Ohio. Many human activities may affect the quality and quantity of this resource. However, the availability and quality of this resource are influenced directly by the properties of the geologic formations that hold water. The chemical and physical nature of these formations varies from area to area, creating a wide range of water yields and quality at different depths. This publication contains information about the ground-water resources underlying Franklin County. Its purpose is to help the reader better understand the factors that influence the quantity and quality of ground water. An overview of the county's water resources is provided in the publication Water Resources of Franklin County , AEX-480.25.

Nevada Water Resources Association
Mission and Purpose
The Nevada Water Resources Association’s (NWRA) mission is to provide education, training, and networking opportunities for those interested in understanding, developing, conserving and protecting Nevada’s water resources. Our mission is to expand awareness of water issues throughout the state. NWRA hosts an annual conference where water professionals throughout the state convene to discuss current and ongoing statewide water issues ranging from integrated watershed management, groundwater quality and management, southern Nevada regional water supply issues, and water reuse in both northern and southern Nevada. Panel discussions as well as technical sessions are held to discuss these issues. NWRA also hosts a variety of workshops covering a broad range of topics, from Beginning Water Rights in Nevada, Advanced Water Rights in Nevada, Surface Water Methods and Analyses, Natural Recharge, Well Construction Methods, and Introduction to Groundwater and Wells. Qualified instructors teach all of the courses, and professional development hours are available to Nevada registered engineers and land surveyors. NWRA co-sponsors the Well Construction Methods and the Introduction to Groundwater and Wells seminars with the American Water Works Association (AWWA). These seminars are held in Nevada as well as California.
