Graduate Research Opportunities Distinguished Lecturer Series Giving to UW Rendezvous ... Student Organizations Geology is the study of the origin, history and structure of the Earth. Our undergraduate offerings encompass virtually every aspect of the science, with emphasis on current theory, methods and applications. Our graduate program provides training for the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in many disciplines of the earth sciences, including geology, geochemistry, geophysics, glaciology, paleontology, planetary science and remote sensing. The philosophy of the department is to provide sound training in both theory and field observation, and to couple this background with a thorough education in modern laboratory, quantitative and field techniques required for an understanding of geologic processes. http://www.arkgeo.com/
About ARK Overview of Background and History Application and Quality ARK Geophysics has been providing specialist services in gravity and magnetic geophysics to oil exploration companies, mining groups and government organizations world-wide since 1986. We offer a full range of services and are proud of our ability to provide an integrated response to client requirements. Services range from data acquisition and processing through to interpretation, as well as software development and training. We have numerous non-exclusive reports and data available for areas from Europe to Australia. We manage FieldBank , a global on-line data bank for potential field data. In addition to several major oil companies who store their proprietary data in FieldBank, various seismic companies market their non-exclusive potential field data though FieldBank. Our office near Milton Keynes is within easy reach of all London airports and is served by a mainline London rail link. We have representative office in Houston and Jakarta. ARK Geophysics Directors Paul Versnel Managing Director Andy McGrandle Sales Director Richard Gleave Technical Director Rick Connolly IT Director The analysis of gravity and magnetic data in conjunction to seismic provides a more complete exploration strategy as interpretational uncertainties are reduced through the analysis of additional rock properties. We have been able to demonstrate that significant geological information can be gleaned from gravity and magnetic data in both frontier and mature exploration areas.

Conducting a VLF-EM survey near the Niblack deposit on Prince of Wales Island, southeast Alaska. Careful ground geophysical profiles over well-defined geology have allowed geophysicists to develop a matrix of geophysical signatures for key rock units, thus nabling the development of predictive geophysical models from airborne geophysical data. These redictive geophysical models allow the geologists to dramatically improve the geologic mapping and mineral prospection in areas that are 95% covered with 'blueberry chainlink', forest, and mudflats. ==Jeff Wynn, USGS Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society
