183. Webring Of Imaginary Countries - Welcome
Connects sites of people who own any kind of imaginary geographic entity cities, islands, countries, federations of countries, planets and star systems.
http://www.persis.nl/maratidar/webring.html
Welcome to the Webring of Imaginary Countries
This is the Homepage of the Webring of Imaginary Countries . This ring connects sites of people who own an imaginary country. The definition of "country" is to be understood in all possible variations of geographic entity, such as:
  • cities
  • islands
  • countries
  • federations of countries
  • planets and star systems and so on
The Webring also welcomes sites dealing with other aspects of fictious geography, such as flags and weaponry, and even countries which claim to be real (with or without territory, e.g. the Sovereign Military Order of Malta). If you want to know more about Geo Fiction in general, you can visit the site of The Dutch Geo Fiction Association (English version available). This is a platform for geo fiction enthusiasts to meet each other (it is a 'real life' club), exchange ideas about geos (in most cases imaginary countries) and about the geo fiction hobby in general. (While the owner of this site is a member of the Dutch Geofiction Association, this site is not a publication of, nor has been approved by, the Association. The same is true for this webring.)

Geographic Information Services
The ability to manipulate spatial data into different forms and to extract additional meaning from them is at the root of current interests in GIS technology" -Goodchild The Legislative Coordinating Commission's Geographic Information Services is the repository of statewide boundary information for legislative use. The office maintains a map library of spatial information, provided by the Census Bureau and a host of Minnesota State agencies, that can be integrated with many sources of information to produce maps and reports of pertinent information for legislators and legislative staff. Such information includes demographics, elections, natural resources and infrastructure to name a few. LCC-GIS also provides the Legislature with the means to do Redistricting once every 10 years in conjunction with the Census. The Redistricting process uses many map layer data sets which LCC-GIS provides and assists in maintaining.
