How to Register Students must enroll in an academic degree program in one of Three Rivers University's partner institutions. They may tailor their desired professional education by selecting courses from a wide range of programs offered by the University's partners. Three Rivers University programs span the entire range of environmental disciplines, such as environmental science, engineering, health, law, management, and public policy. Learn more about the participating institutions' registration procedures by directly linking with their respective admissions offices. 1. The purpose of cross college and university registration is to provide opportunities for enriched educational programs by permitting students at any of the PCHE institutions to take courses at any other PCHE institution. 2. The opportunity to cross register is open to each full-time graduate and undergraduate student enrolled in a PCHE college or university. Part-time students normally are not permitted to cross register. If valid circumstances exist, the appropriate home school academic administrator may grant a waiver of the Cross Registration Guidelines.

Live Webcast Monday on Housing Research Involving Children
Critics have questioned the propriety of recent studies regarding housing-related health risks and children. The National Academies will release a report on how such research can meet stringent scientific and ethical standards. Join the event by listening to a live audio webcast (requires free RealPlayer ) and submitting questions using an e-mail form, both accessible on the National-Academies.org homepage at 2 p.m. EST.

This exciting course integrates the fields of environmental science, engineering design and manufacture, the ethical implications of engineering processes and their management. This we achieve through the study of existing and new products, techniques and processes, as well as encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship. You will study a range of subjects that link the following fields: sustainable product development, quality assurance systems, environmental systems and their management, manufacturing processes and materials, waste elimination techniques, and efficient energy usage. You will solve problems, some of which will be industrially and commercially focussed. We will encourage you to understand the whole product life cycle and its implications in terms of energy usage and materials as well as processes, from concept through to detail. You will also explore all aspects of engineering as related to the environment.

A Message from the Dean
Graduates for the 21st Century
Welcome to the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Environment at the University of Salford. As you explore our web pages, I believe that you will notice some important differences between us and similar Faculties at other Universities. For instance we have only two Schools (or Departments): the School of Computing, Science and Engineering (CSE) and the School of Environment and Life Sciences (ELS). In CSE, scientists and engineers with expertise in many different areas including multimedia and the internet, computing, aviation, physics, space technology, robotics, music recording, acoustics and nanotechnology all work together to develop courses and research programmes in both their own speciality subjects and also in interdisciplinary areas of increasing importance to 21st century society. Similarly in ELS, scientists with interests in areas such as biology, biochemistry, environmental health, urban studies, wildlife conservation, cancer studies and infectious diseases (and many more related areas) study and teach their own subjects but also work at the boundaries between the different topics. It is in this way that we develop graduates with the skills needed now and in the future.
