fter two years he was set to pursue his studies at the conservatory in Paris, but Cherubini, then the director of that institution, refused to admit him because he was a foreigner. His Father Adam then resorted to Ferdinando Paer to teach Franz composition. After a further private education he played at the houses of rich families and in 1824 he made his debut in London. He caused a sensation and soon played at Drury Lane and before George IV. Finally the Liszt's settled in Paris and the career of the young Franz progressed at a tremendous pace. Liszt was born in Doborjan, Hungary in 1811. From an early age, Franz exhibited a remarkable affinity for music and especially piano. When Franz was 6 years old, Adam Liszt (Franz's father) noticed his interest and proficiency in music. A year later, in 1818, Adam Liszt began giving his son piano lessons. Only one year later, Franz Liszt displayed a remarkable ability to play difficult music and even improvise! Soon, Franz Liszt moved to Vienna and was taught by Czerny from 1822 to 1823. At the tender age of 12, Liszt gave his first concert and started earning a name as a remarkable pianist. For the rest of his life, Liszt lived a relatively stable life in Paris, giving frequent concerts and writing frequent compositions. During this long period of creation, Liszt was able to formulate a wide variety of musical techniques that would be used by many composers after his death. The Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra took the name of the great composer, who had consistently declared himself as a Hungarian. Although Franz Liszt did not compose any works for string, the Orchestra adopted his name to pay homage to the genius whose name became inseparable with the establishment of Hungarian music pedagogy, and whose spirit irrediates the musical life of the entire world. It is essential to note that Professor Frigyes Sindor, who was the artistic leader of the Orchestra until his death in 1979, played an important role in the Orchestra's development. Composers Franz Liszt (1811-1886) Franz Liszt was a skilled Hungarian pianist and composer responsible for many piano sonatas and concertos that have become standard repertoire for musicians throughout the world. Liszt was born in Doborjan, Hungary near the town of Sopron on October 22, 1811. During that time, Hungary was part of the Austrian Empire and remained so until 1920. Although he is often described as Hungarian, both of Liszt's parents were of Austrian descent, and no historians have ever traced Hungarian lineage to the composer. In fact, neither Liszt nor his parents ever fully learned the Hungarian language. Like so many other renowned composers, Liszt's musical talent emerged at a very young age, and he was a master sight-reader. His father began to teach him music lessons when he was six years old, and local aristocrats capable of financially fostering his musical abilities took an interest and funded trips to Vienna and Paris with his family. Later journals and letters display his regret for this travel, because it is most responsible for him not fully learning the Hungarian language; he was, in fact a French speaker. While in Vienna during his youth, Liszt was trained in piano technique by renowned teacher Carl Czerny. His father had requested composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel, but could not afford his expensive fees. Mozart's talented rival Antonio Salieri had a profound influence on Liszt's compositional skills and helped him discover his own musical style.

Detailed Information about Introduction (born Raiding, 22 October 1811; died Bayreuth, 31 July 1886). He was taught the piano by his father and then Czerny (Vienna, 1822-3), establishing himself as a remarkable concert artist by the age of 12. In Paris he studied theory and composition with Reicha and Paer; he wrote an opera and bravura piano pieces and undertook tours in France, Switzerland and England before ill-health and religious doubt made him reassess his career. Intellectual growth came through literature, and the urge to create through hearing opera and especially Paganini , whose spectacular effects Liszt eagerly transferred to the piano in original works and operatic fantasias. Meanwhile he gave lessons and began his stormy relationship (1833-44) with the (married) Countess Marie d'Agoult. They lived in Switzerland and Italy and had three children. He gave concerts in Paris, maintaining his legendary reputation, and published some essays, but was active chiefly as a composer (

Franz Liszt was one of the most celebrated pianists of the 19th century and one of its most innovative composers. As a small child he showed immense musical gifts. At the age of 10 he moved with his family to Vienna, where he studied with Carl Czerny and Antonio Salieri and played for Beethoven . In 1823 his family moved to Paris, but Liszt was denied admission to the conservatory because of his youth and foreign origin. He had no further formal piano instruction, though he studied composition with Ferdinando Paer and Anton Reicha.
Liszt toured for several years as a recitalist before he settled (1834) in Geneva, Switzerland, with the Countess Marie d'Agoult. One of their three children, Cosima, married the conductor Hans von Bulow and then Richard Wagner; another, Blandine, married Emile Ollivier, premier of France at the outbreak of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. In 1839, Liszt embarked on a series of concert tours throughout Europe.
In 1844, Liszt was appointed musical director in Weimar; he settled there in 1848 and abandoned concertizing to devote himself to conducting and composition. From these Weimar years come his best-known large compositions: the two piano concertos, the

His musical precocity was early recognized by his parents , and his first teacher was his father Adam Liszt, a musical amateur of rare culture. His first public appearance at Oedenburg at the age of nine was so startling a character , that several Hungarian magnates who were present at once assumed the financial responsibilities of his further musical education . Taken to Vienna by his father , who devoted himself exclusively to the development of his talented child, he studied the piano for six years with Czerny, and theory and composition with Salieri and Randhartinger. His first public appearance in Vienna (1 Jan., 1823) proved a noteworthy event in the annals of music. From Beethoven , who was present, down to the merest dilettante, everyone forthwith acknowledged his great genius. His entry to the Paris Conservatory, where his
