Executive summary: Classical composer fond of the piano Polish musical composer and pianist born at Zelazowa-Wola, near Warsaw, on the 22nd of February 1810. His father, of French origin, born at Nancy in 1770, had married a Polish lady, Justine Krzyzanowska. Frederic was their third child. His first musical education he received from Adalbert Ziwny, a Czech musician, who is said to have been a passionate admirer of Johann Sebastian Bach . He also received a good general education at one of the first colleges of Warsaw, where he was supported by Prince Antoine Radziwill, a generous protector of artistic talent and himself well known as the composer of music to Goethe 's Faust and other works. His musical genius opened to Chopin the best circles of Polish society, at that time unrivalled in Europe for its ease of intercourse, the beauty and grace of its women, and its liberal appreciation of artistic gifts. These early impressions were of lasting influence on Chopin's development. While at college he received thorough instruction in the theory of his art from Joseph Elsner, a learned musician and director of the conservatoire at Warsaw. When in 1829 he left his native town for Vienna, where his debut as a pianist took place, he was in all respects a perfectly formed and developed artist. There is in his compositions little of that gradual progress which, for instance, in

Lesser known facts about Frederic Chopin's nationalistic conflict and how this affected his music.
Frederic Francois Chopin, Polish-born composer and renowned pianist, was the creator of 55 mazurkas, 16 polonaises, 26 preludes, 27 etudes, 21 nocturnes, 4 ballads, and 4 scherzos. But did you know that Chopin's teacher was disappointed in him because he never wrote a Polish opera? And what of his national allegiance? Did you know that Chopin's family was of French lineage? Did you know that he was buried in Paris but asked that Polish soil be sprinkled over his grave? These are but a few of the lesser-known facts about the well-known musician. Chopin was born Frederic (spelled in Polish as Fryderyk) Francois (French) Chopin, his very name indicative of the blended impact two countries made on the precocious musician's life. His father, Nicholas Chopin, was a French tutor to many aristocratic Polish families, later accepting a position as a French teacher at the Warsaw Lyceum. Although Chopin later attended the Lyceum where his father taught, his early training began at home. This included receiving piano lessons from his mother. By the age of six, Chopin was creating original pieces, showing innate prodigious musical ability. His parents arranged for the young Chopin to take piano instruction from Wojciech Zywny.

Frederic Chopin Biography
Frédéric-François Chopin (March 1, 1810 – October 17, 1849) is widely seen as the greatest of Polish composers and among the very greatest of composers for the piano , the instrument for which he wrote almost exclusively. He was born as Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin, adopting the French variant 'Frédéric-François' when he left Poland for Paris at age 20, never to return. His surname is also sometimes spelled Szopen in Polish texts. He was another one of the extremely rare child prodigies, including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Felix Mendelssohn Frédéric-François Chopin, portrayed by

Kerry Kubilius May 21, 2007
Educated from an early age in Warsaw, Chopin made his name as a composer before the age of 20. He subsequently continued his career in Paris.
In 1830, Chopin left Warsaw for good. He had already given concerts in Vienna, and it is there that he learned of the November 1830 Uprising (against Russian rule in Poland). Chopin might have returned to his homeland, but family and friends dissuaded him from this journey. From Vienna, Chopin traveled to Paris, where he would live out the rest of his life.

Frederic Chopin Biography
Frederic Chopin is the best piano composer of all time, even to this date. His music has inspired pianists all over the world. The music of Frederic Chopin is not only original, but has the most emotional impact for piano music. He took advantage of the piano in every way possible, trying not to be too ridiculous, as some composers are today, but trying not to be too conservative. Frederic Chopin was creative in a way that still makes his music far superior than all piano composers of this time. Proof that the music of Frederic Chopin is highly valued is that the average person probably would have heard of one or two of his piano compositions, even if they never listen to piano music. If Fredric Chopin had concentrated on symphonies, he would write better symphonies than Beethoven. But he did not concentrate on symphony writing, which is the reason why Frederic Chopin wrote poor for anything else but the piano. The only reason Frederic Chopin concentrated on the piano was probably because he could not write music in his head. He was extremely creative but needed an aid, and the aid being the piano. Another reason why he concentrated on the piano was probably because he realized that the piano has many more possibilities than an orchestra. Frederic Chopin was a true hero to the piano, and gave the piano justice. Before his time, the piano only created boring piano music tunes. After Frederic Chopin, it was realized that the piano had capabilities of playing music that can be more musical than an orchestra.

Chopin, Frédéric François. 1809-1849.
He was the greatest genius of the piano who has ever lived, one of the most lovable, interesting and romantic figures in the history of music, and a great lyric composer, who was aptly called by Robert Schumann, " The boldest and proudest poetic spirit of the age." His life was brief, but full of incident and replete with energy and his service to the art of music cannot be too highly estimated. Chopin was a composer for the piano and for the piano alone, and his style is suited to no other instrument. In this he is unique. He was not only a great composer for the piano, but he made most important modifications in that instrument, and realized its possibilities as no one else ever did. He did for the piano what Paganini did for the violin and what Schubert did for song. He stands absolutely alone, and cannot be classified with any other composer.
His music is tinctured through and through with his personality. In it there is an echo of what he felt, loved and suffered. His compositions have been well-called his memoirs and his autobiography. No other poet, for Chopin was as much a poet as he was a musician, has like him embodied in art the romance of the land and the people of Poland, and no other has like him embodied in art the romance of his own life. James Huneker has written of him: "Never so long as the piano remains the piano will Chopin be forgotten. He is as Rubinstein, said, its soul."
