La Musica
Allegorical figures, as figures having no individual identity but rather used to symbolize moral or other abstract ideas, have existed in Western culture at least from the time of ancient Greece. "Music," for example, is present as such a symbol in both Greek drama and philosophy. Whatever the context, wherever "Music" appeared, she was understood to represent a specific and unchanging concept.
Then in the renaissance and baroque periods allegorical figures began to be given an emblematic value. "La Musica" in early operas takes on a highly individual character given to it by both the librettist and the composer, as demonstrated, for example, in the use of her personage in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo . Her emblem, or character, is defined in relation to the plot and endows it with a symbolic meaning to which the listener can relate. The transitory nature of the emblem allowed allegorical figures like "La Musica" to take on different aspects according to different situations. In recognition of this early baroque addition to her dimension, we have called this recording "La Musica." Francesca Caccini (1587-ca.1640) was an extremely versatile artista virtuosic singer, lutenist, guitarist, harpsichordist, poetess and composer. She and her sister Settimia were the daughters of the famous composer-singer-theorist Giulio Caccini and the singer Lucia Caccini. Although Francesca spent most of her life in Florence, she traveled widely. She was well-known by the French Court in Paris, having made her singing debut at the wedding of Maria de Medici to Henri IV, King of France in 1600. She became a musician for the Medici Court in 1607 and by 1613 was one of the highest-paid musicians in Florence.

Subject: Women Composers results
First, thank you all for your GENEROUS responses to my request for
information anout women composers of choral music. What a thrill to
receive responses from conductors and women composers from all over the
world! Here is the compilation of what was sent plus one or two
additions. There are 5 sections: COMPOSERS; LIVING COMPOSERS w/CONTACT;
GENERAL WEB SITES; PUBLISHERS; BOOKS; and OTHER REFERENCES (lectures,
etc.). I'm sure I've left some out of the living composers category but
these were just a few who offered other means of contact (there are more copmosers subscribed to this list). And the dates were included only for the few for whom I had definite dates. Francesca Caccini
Francesca was the eldest daughter and best student of her father, Giulio. As an Italian singer, composer, teacher, lutenist, guitarist and harpsichordist Francesca was invited to sing in the courts of Henri IV, the Tuscan court, and at Maria de'Medici's marriage. Francesca Caccini's most noted work was her opera "La liberazione di Ruggiero dall'isola d'Alcina" and it was even the more famed for its being the first Italian opera to be performed outside of Italy. Her two volume work "Il primo libro delle musiche" contained a number of songs including madrigals, canzonettas, sonnet settings. It was an important gift to early music for the solo voice and demonstrated an appreciation for the potential magnificence of the human voice. ~ Keith Johnson, All Music Guide Expand [+] dojo.byId('bio2').innerHTML = 'Francesca was the eldest daughter and best student of her father, Giulio. Many couples prefer classical music for a traditional wedding ceremony.
Some of the most popular works for the wedding service are listed below:
Prelude
Processionals Interlude Recessional
For Cocktails, Dinner

Although many couples like light jazz for background music during cocktails and dinner, some prefer light classics. As a default, the Branderburg Concerti of Johann Sebastian Bach work wonderfully. Classical music for a background mood must be carefully selected for dynamic range. Although a wide range of dynamics is artistic for serious listening, it does not work as background music: pianissimos are inaudible over the general din, and fortissimos come blasting through. Also, many of the world's favorite classical compositions are introspective, brooding or explosive. Unless you specify must-have favorites, please allow the DJ's expertise in this area. If you would like a focus on certain periods of music history, or instrumentation,
I will be happy to accommodate:

As a result, one may be tempted to judge the ensemble known as reconstruction harshly, because they are billed as "fresh and sexy" women performing according to historically informed performance practices. A glance over their credentials, however, should put such prejudices to rest, as most of them have fine early music programs in their educational backgrounds. Judged only by the sounds of their Saturday evening concert at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center's Gildenhorn Recital Hall, reconstruction is a group with mostly serious intentions, a good if not stellar ensemble that happens to be fairly easy on the eyes.
From the earliest examples of women singing virtuosic, learned music, the visual appeal of the female performer has often been an asset. The daughters of Giulio Caccini, Francesca and Settimia, formed a
