Soltanto verso la fine della sua vita ottenne qualche riconoscimento, diventando professore alla Reale Accademia di Musica di Svezia (1867). Bach Brandenburg Concertos Nos.1-6 Orchestral Suites Nos.1-4 Academy of St Martin in the Fields Sir Neville Marriner The Orchestral Suites are modelled on the French style which was very popular in the courts of Germany around the 1720s. Each suite begins with an overture which is followed by a series of dances, all with French titles. The Academy of St Martin in the Fields was founded in 1959 by Sir Neville Marriner and a group of London's leading orchestral players. Originally formed as a small conductorless string group, it spearheaded the 1960s Baroque revival, and has recorded and performed a rapidly expanding range of repertoire with Sir Neville, with over 500 recordings to its credit. There are seven concertos for one harpsichord, BWV1052-1058, three concertos for two harpsichords, BWV1060-1062, two concertos for three harpsichords, BWV1063-1064, and one concerto for four harpsichords, BWV1065. The Ensemble Orchestral de Paris was founded in 1978 by Marcel Landowsky, Jean-Pierre Wallez and Roland Bourdin. Under the direction of its succesive conductors, Jean-Pierre Wallez, Armin Jordan, Jean Jacques Kantorow and presently John Nelson, it has acquired a unique place in the French musical landscape.
