The casting agent provides a list of suggestions which is then discussed with the director and the producer. Actors are then shortlisted and invited to take part in auditions where they are given a scene from a script and asked to perform 'in character'. At dinner, Alice Hastings recognizes his difficulty in raising funds and shows him a coded captain’s log, supposedly from Captain Cook, from among the papers of her husband who has been missing for seven years. The "Saknussemm theory" suggests the possibility of passages deep into the earth. She’ll fund the expedition to find her husband. Lytton drops a bundle down a pit and gauges the drop to be 3/4 mile. They descend. Jonas reports heat and water scarcity. After seeing a trilobyte fossil, they find they are on the path of Casper Hastings. A gasoline explosion has them slugging back gin and considering turning back. But McNiff finds water before a cave-in brings a boulder close upon Lytton. Alice saves him and her hair blows. The wind comes from a subterranean sea, not salt-water, with a false sky created by electrical phenomena at the cavern’s heights. Alice sees a dancing plant, but this turns out to be the tail of an early Jurassic dinosaur. Lytton thought it was "strictly vegetarian," but instructs McNiff to shoot it between the eyes.

BLURRED is not about being there - it's about a bunch of kids trying to get there. It shows the potential of young people, their resilience and their humour as the innocence of childhood is burned away in a blaze of alcohol and drugs, sexual confusion and the severing of the bonds of the schoolyard. The end of those torturous exams, those insufferable teachers, the mirth, the snuffle, the schoolyard brawls actually now I think of it, it was the best time of my life. But that’s a different movie altogether. Evan Clarry’s wired comedy “Blurred” centres on that iniquitous tradition that follows the aforesaid end of year siren: schoolies week. Never got to experience it myself – but for literally thousands of Australians every year, it’s the highpoint of their higher school education. In quintessence, it’s just getting trashed in different panorama, usually Queensland, but it’s more about coming together - That final free-for-all for yourself and regurgitating gut if you will. First things first - The TV spots and publicity for “Blurred” are slightly disingenuous. This isn’t actually about schoolies week – yes sorry folks, no 5am vomit sessions here – but more the road trip to the place where it will take place. But don’t let that deter you from handing over the green, because there’s enough of a travelling party in motion to keep most entertained.

Feldman After watching Jeremy London play Griffin Holbrook for four years on Fox's downbeat drama series, Party of Five, it's hard to picture him as the adventurer type. But the USA Network's new two-part telefilm, Journey to the Center of the Earth, is literally a dramatic break for the 26-year-old actor. "You think?" he jokes. "This something that my nephews and nieces are going to be able to watch and have a good time. I mean, they're going to think I'm a superhero after seeing this thing. We're dealing with dinosaurs and dinosaur people. It's just fantastic." London, whose character on PO5 is divorced from Neve Campbell's, also gets back into romantic action in Journey: He falls in love with a beautiful cave girl named Ralna (Petra Yared). "Petra [is] a sweet Australian girl, a great actress," he says. "The sexy little cave-girl things that they put her into are just so funny. To imagine that there would ever be girls like that living inside a volcano is just hysterical." In this latest adaptation of Jules Verne's classic adventure novel — the most memorable being the 1959 version starring James Mason — London plays Jonas, whose uncle, Professor Theodore Lytton (Treat Williams), is hired by heiress Alice Hastings (Tushka Bergen) to find her estranged husband (Bryan Brown). In the unfolding of episodes, we come to see a portrait of a sensitive, misunderstood, young man who has not had the easiest life! He wants nothing more in the world than Julia, and finally, in the third season finale got just that. Yep, Julia and Griffin eloped in the finale. Unfortunately, he should have rethought marrying THAT selfish a person, as for three seasons after that we had to watch a one-sided romance.
