Dressed in a white coat, turtleneck and slacks, the classy 61-year-old actor talked quickly and crisply, dispensing invaluable advice about the entertainment industry - focusing primarily on strategies for the aspiring actor. Teaching is nothing new to Wells. In addition to her extensive 35-year acting career that has spanned over 60 theater productions and over 120 television appearances, Wells has taught acting classes at several colleges, including Purdue University and the University of Nevada-Reno. Currently, she runs the "Film Actor's Boot Camp," a week-long, intensive acting course designed to teach thespians the "nuts and bolts of becoming a professional." Located in eastern Idaho, the camp admits a maximum of 20 applicants per session, to insure an intimate setting. Wells has also worked as a journalist for an Australian television program, and she once hosted Dawn Wells' Reel Adventures, her own female fishing show. Dispelling show business preconceptions was another concern of Wells. She emphasized the importance of an actor maximizing his or her options and not being afraid to pursue "alternative" forms of acting, which include voice acting for cartoons and commercial voiceovers. James Brackus, who portrayed Thurston Howell III on Gilligan's Island, gave his voice to the tenacious Mr. Magoo, and Wells herself played the parts of both Mary Ann and Ginger on the 1982 cartoon, Gilligan's Planet.

He also said that the flat rate for electricity consumed by tube- wells would be introduced to bring about an agricultural revolution. The chief minister was speaking at a public gathering in Matiari near here on Thursday, which was organized by MPA Syed Jalal Shah Jamote. Mr Mahar claimed that he had eliminated corruption in the province and said that if a single case of corruption was proved, he would resign. He said that when he assumed power, unemployment was at its peak in Sindh but he had created 35,000 jobs which would be given on the basis of merit. The chief minister said that efforts were being made to improve law and order situation in the province and added that investment depended on improved law and order situation. He further said that local and foreign investments had already started pouring in. Stressing the need for education, he said without it, neither the people nor the province could prosper. Actress Dawn Wells, best known as the perky girl next door on that desert island, brings the one-week Film Actor's Boot Camp to the Teton Wells Ranch in Driggs, Idaho, 35 miles from Jackson Hole. Wells maintains a busy career that includes teaching at various colleges. Though she realized that schools teach people the art of acting, something is often missing, she said. "I really find that (the information her camp includes) is not what's being offered." In the past, Wells has welcomed a handful of young women into her home every year and given them guidance about breaking into the Hollywood scene. "I saw how much it helped just those two or three and I thought that there really is an opportunity to provide some mentorship." The camp runs in weekly sessions from June to August. GINGER VS. MARYANN? Sometimes there's choices in life that define you as a human being. Whether it's Yankees vs. Mets, Betty vs. Veronica, or Jm. J Bullock vs. Richard Simmons, you're either strongly passionate for one or the other. Perhaps no choice has divided mankind more than Ginger vs. Maryann. Some prefer the sultry redheaded Tina Louise, who's Marilyn Monroesque sexiness made a nation of millions wish they were stranded with her instead of Gilligan. While others were more smitten with the girl next door charms of Dawn Wells as Maryann. We had a poll here not too long ago, and after over 8,000 votes it was 65% for Maryann and 35% for Ginger. But the debate may never truly end. I was lucky enough to get an email from Brian Anderson who pointed out a great point/counterpoint piece he and his pal Bill Furlow did on the whole Ginger vs. Maryann debate.
