While there have been numerous studies that assess the impacts of contaminants on egg and larval stages, potential latent effects experienced in the terrestrial environment have received little attention. Because amphibian population dynamics can be disproportionately dependent on the vital rates of terrestrial life stages, research on juveniles and adults is necessary to ensure we are adequately protecting amphibian populations from the harmful effects of contaminants. For my dissertation research, I am investigating the effects of chronic larval exposure to cadmium on the growth and survival of juvenile American toads (

STACY CEMETERY BURIALS Utica Township, Clark County, Indiana This cemetery is located on land owned by Richard Lewman, who lives on Salem Road near Pleasant Run, west of Charlestown. The cemetery is in Grant 70 in Utica Township. The cemetery is a good way behind the Lewman farmstead and is closer to Stacy Rd in a Northeast direction. Joe and Marie Seiffert visited this site in the Summer of 1997 and report it is in VERY poor condition with stones fallen over and some buried. It is in a wooded area. The stones that remain are all weathered and difficult to read. Joe and Marie report the following legible stones as of June 1997: The following are gravestones found by Norval Stacy in the summer of 1996. Unfortunately, Joe and Marie Seiffert report they could not locate them during their 1997 visit. I presently have no further information on this cemetery. When a fetus develops to the point where expulsion from the uterus does not immediately equate death, that is the point at which it is alive, and the point at which it is a baby. It can support its own bodily functions by breathing, wailing, or enacting otherwise human gestures. I wonder if pro-life supporters along this line of thinking have serious internal conflicts while eating chicken eggs, which by the fetus=baby mentality, are simply murdered baby chickens.
