Bruce Springsteen, pictured above, not very recently, and embossed (emBOSSed.....geddit!!) underneath, remarkably recently, is a prolific performer and songwriter. This is your opportunity to have your say on all the important aspects of the great man's life and music.
Just in case you're not a fan, here is an extensive, painstakingly researched biography. Bruce Springsteen was born and raised in Freehold, near Asbury Park - a sleepy, run down part of New Jersey (pretty much like Blackpool out of season, by all accounts). He grew up to become the greatest bloke on the planet, and to be frequently referred to as 'The Boss', not least in this web site. Oh, and he's been known to knock out a pretty decent tune from time to time as well.

John Landau (later Springsteen’s producer and manager) had famously written in Rolling Stone: “I saw rock n’ roll’s future, and its name is Bruce Springsteen.” Bruce had also appeared on the covers of Time and Newsweek in the same week, so he had a lot to live up to. Fortunately, on the masterful Born To Run epic seems like too small a word for this one) that is layered into many parts, and which searches for and achieves a panoramic sweep. Its timeless romanticism lingers in the memory long after the last note, closing out one of the greatest albums of all time on an exhausting but exhilarating high. Darkness On The Edge Of Town (Columbia ‘78) Rating: A After a three year hiatus resulting from an ugly legal battle with soon to be ex-manager Mike Appel, Bruce Springsteen returned to the studio a changed man. Come on Up for the Rising
The latest from the Boss. By Kevin M. Cherry n 1984, Bruce Springsteen released a little album called Born in the USA , which catapulted him from ordinary rock star into media phenomenon. After the excesses of that period, Springsteen retreated. 1987's Tunnel of Love Ghost of Tom Joad was really a folk album, a horse-drawn carriage next to the '57 Chevy that was Born to Run
Despite all this, Springsteen remained astonishingly prominent. He won an Academy Award and Grammy for the theme song to the movie Philadelphia . He reunited with the E Street Band for 1995's Greatest Hits , and a track from that album, after being used in Jerry Maguire , became one of his biggest hits ever. In 1999, to celebrate his induction into

Bruce Springsteen
Along with Michael Jackson and Madonna, Bruce Springsteen stands as one of the largest popular music icons of the 1980s. Yet unlike Jacko and the Virgin Queen, the Boss has managed to outgrow his teen idol image with his songwriting abilities and critical esteem 100 percent intact.
By the time he rose to international superstardom in the 1980s, Springsteen was already a well-established artist. After releasing two strong, but largely unnoticed albums, he released his first masterpiece, Born To Run in 1975. Featuring some of his most well-known rock anthems "Thunder Road," "Backsteets," and "Born To Run" to name a few the album officially began Springsteen's career-long examination of the American identity. And with "Wall Of Sound" production, inspired lyrics, and an epic musical vision, Born To Run secured Springsteen's reputation amongst rock lovers.
What makes Springsteen such a wonderful artist to appreciate is his almost obsessed attention to his craft. Each of the albums following Born To Run are worthy of close study. While 1984's
