Our research seeks an understanding of the physico-chemical behavior underlying separation techniques such as capillary electrophoresis, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ion chromatography. Current projects within laboratory include: Fundamental studies of electrophoretic mobility and electroosmotic flow in capillary electrophoresis Development of luminescence detection methods for capillary electrophoresis and HPLC based on diode lasers, light emitting diodes (LED) and chemiluminescence Development of self-assembled coatings for control of electroosmotic flow and prevention of protein adsorption in capillary electrophoresis Rapid ion chromatographic separations using monolithic columns, in collaboration with Dow Chemicals Canada.
