I have already included some of the line of William ROCHELLE of Wake Co., N.C. He apparently is the only known child that stayed in that area. Many of his descendants moved to Tennessee. The wedding will be in a church in Hyde Park, close to where their condo is. No reception tonight, as far as we know. Better stock up on Clif bars... Both Marc and Rochelle's families will be in attendance, I understand. I've not met anyone from Rochelle's side of the family yet, but I'm quite familiar with Marc's family. When we were both living in central Illinois over 10 years ago, we would usually spend time at each other's family functions. I've attended plenty of Dukes cookouts in the years, and Marc attended quite a few barbecues and fish frys at my grandparent's house. And now, as we get ready to attend their wedding, once again I'm feeling like a part of Marc's family. Amy and I will be a part of one of Marc and Rochelle's greatest days, and the fact that Marc's invited me to be his best man during the ceremony shows that he has a great deal of trust and good feelings towards Amy and me. (And of course we had similar feelings for Marc when we got married in 2002. Marc attended the wedding, and although I didn't have a best man, he was one of the witnesses that signed the marriage license.) So at the ceremony tonight I'll probably be reflecting on how close Marc's family and my family have become over the years, and how we continue to celebrate our good times together.

CCE IN THE NEWS Source: The Journal News David's Island Motion BY Ken Valenti March 29, 2005 A committee of the Westchester County Board of Legislators sought yesterday to push forward the cleanup of Davids Island so the county could buy it and create a park. The legislators' Environment Committee agreed to ask the full board to kick in up to $100,000 for a further investigation of the cleanup needed, a study that would open the door for possibly millions of dollars more in funding from the state Department of Environmental Conservation. "It's not every day that an island comes up for sale," said Legislator Thomas J. Abinanti, D-Greenburgh, head of the Environment Committee. The money would be the county and New Rochelle's share of a $1 million study; DEC would provide the rest, according to state Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, D-Scarsdale, who spoke to the committee. Paulin has been active in representing New Rochelle's interests in the island. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has estimated that it will cost some $20 million to clean the 78-acre island, a former Army post, including about $17.5 million to demolish and remove buildings and $2.4 million to remove tanks and contaminated soil. County estimates of the cleanup costs, based on a study completed in 2002, have been lower.
