All I remember from this show is Jeremiah from Six Finger Satellite was at it. He is still very, very tall. They are building a studio and will record again. He told me that the lead singer from Brainiac just died in a car crash. I also remember the promo ter of the show yelling at me, saying he lost over $1000 tonight. It's not our fault, I wanted to tell him; our name wasn't even on his stupid little bulletin board. It just said Failure. The show the night before was a Tribute to Iron Maiden (I'm serious ) and the next day was a Doors Revival show. Just walking into the club, you knew it was the wrong place for the show, just like most of the other shows. They've all been at the wrong places.

Last weekend was spent up at White House Studios even better mix. By Anthony Mariani Matt Pinfield, the stocky, bald-headed broadcaster who established his reputation as the station's tough-looking savant and host of MTV's "120 Minutes" show, is starting to seem a lot more like one of those infomercial blowhards. OCTOBER 19, 2004: LOTS OF NEWS Dean, Britta and Tony KASPER'S NEW YORK ODYSSEY Later in the month Kasper Eistrup from the group Kashmir arrived in New York City and we got to do a fair bit of hanging out. His pal, Robert Lund, of another great Danish band called Kitty Wu, accompanied him. One fine day we took a subway ride from Prince Street to Times Square to hunt for a 1966 Fender Telecaster. Kasper already has a few nice Teles but wanted this elusive year. We started on 48th street, the New York mecca for musical instruments, and ended up walking back south stopping at various vintage guitar shops. I believe Kasper ended up buying two Fender Mustangs instead. Another highlight for Kasper and Robert was seeing Kristeen Young perform at Pianos in Soho. MTV 120 Minutes: KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas Concert Special Page One Updated January 6, 1996 MTV 120 Minutes aired their KROQ Almost Acoustic special early Christmas Morning in the US from 1:00AM to 4:00AM (and showed it again at midnight December 29th ). I watched the show, but I fell asleep and missed Tori Luckily, my good friend Stacey Russell taped the show, and I now have photos for you! Danica Knox kindly provided me with the complete transcript you see below as well. The show was not as great as I hoped. They mainly showed regular videos and only showed 5-10 second clips from the actual KROQ Christmas concert. Matt Pinfield also talked to the artists backstage for about 1-2 minutes. They showed a 10 second clip of Tori singing Precious Things , and they played the Silent All These Years video. Take Me To Page Two Please! Here is Danica's Transcipt! What can I say? The entire event was rather disappointing. The date was April 9th. On America Online, over 500 people virtually packed the MTV arena to "chat" with Tori. The excitement and anticipation was obvious from the comments scrolling down my screen. People were even fairly patient as the time dragged passed 7:00PM. Then finally at about 7:25, Matt Pinfield from MTV's 120 Minutes program appeared and began praising Tori. He and Tori then had an interesting short conversation. That was followed by a formal greeting from some MTV bigwig. Almost immediately after they started to ask the first question, my connection with AOL was severed. I frantically tried to sign on again, but the MTV arena site was unavailable. I then tried to get to the chat via IRC using my direct Internet account. However, the server was not responding there either. I then noticed on the MTV web site a little note that said the IRC server was having technical difficulties. By now it was 8:00, and I realized that Tori would need to leave and get mentally prepared for the opening concert of her North American Tour, which was just a little over an hour away! I sulked and grew depressed, realizing that the event we had all looked forward to had failed to materialize. When I was able to sign back onto AOL, I hung out a while with some other fans, and we consoled each other. I then learned that Tori did not even have a chance to answer hardly any questions. At least we got to hear from her a little bit, and if you read the transcript below you will see that they seem serious about trying to do this again rather soon!

Jim Ciprich - Ortley Beach, N.J., July 3, 1998 - The day was plagued with traffic, yet blessed with perfect weather. Unknowing that it would take me three hours to get from Middletown to Ortley Beach, I actually missed about half of the show. I did however, catch up with those Hub City faves (and good buds of mine), Evelyn Forever. They apparently put on a great show, as spectators and band members agreed. Nightclub Jitters Following Evelyn were Mercury recording artists Pee Shy. I missed most of this set (see lame traffic excuse above), but what I did catch was impressive. I don't know if Pee Shy could really get a beach crowd going as well as Brian Wilson back in the day - they looked slightly out of place. I asked myself during their set as to whether these overly tan, beautiful beach bums in the crowd would go to a club to see the band if Pee Shy weren't placed right in front of them. It's sort of a shame that they wasted such a good set on indifferent ears. That's not to say that nobody was into them, but it seemed like they generated less love than the acts that followed.
