He won acceptance to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1984. After he graduated he joined the Young Vic Theatre Company, playing Romeo in Romeo and Juliet and Claudio in Measure for Measure. He then went on to make a guest appearance in the TV series Boon in 1986. This was closely followed in 1988 with his first film Vroom in which he teamed up with David Thewlis and Diana Quick. It was also in 1988 that Clive appeared on TV screens for the first time in the BBC's adaptation of Precious Blane. Clive in a BMW Z4 Click for a larger image. In 1990 Clive appeared as Stephen Crane in Chancer. In the same year he also appeared on TV in Lorna Doone. 1991 saw Clive in another film, Close My Eyes, in which he played an ambitious businessman who is seduced by his older sister, Saskia Reeves, and then become obsessed. This was followed in 1993 by Century, in which Clive played a Jewish doctor opposite Charles Dance. He also appeared on television the same year in The Magician, and in Class of '61 as an Irish graduate of West Point who goes off to fight in the Civil War. | |
