All that remains of the lad is his brain and his lips. Yet thanks to the mad creations of Professor Chang Sze (Elvis Tsui Kam-kong), Lee lives again in a body fashioned out of cheap consumer electronics and powered with a handful of D batteries. Lee soon discovers that he can turn his limbs or indeed his entire body into a dizzying sundry of household objects such as a spatula, toothpaste tube, and a microwave. These unlikely skills come in handy when he is assigned to teach biology in front of Hong Kong's worst high-schoolers. Along the way, the yakuza who tried to blow him up learns that he didn't quite finish the job and sets out to set things right. ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide

Story: Review: To go ahead and get the formalities out of the way, and to do a favor for all of the lazy readers out there, Love on Delivery is pure Stephen Chow excellence. It ranks only a small notch below classics such as Shaolin Soccer and God of Cookery in my opinion. The movie itself is so well put together, that there are absolutely no out of place jokes, and the story hooks the viewer from the fantastic opening to the hilarious climax.

Review: His character is a judge who rounds out a group of heinously corrupt officials that are bound to get their comeuppance by the films end. They are all exponentially dislikable as the ranks get higher, and they consistently put our hero Secretary Sung in a bind. This causes Chow to do numerous things in order to get around their scrutinizing eye, including dressing in drag at one point (the reasoning behind which is not nearly as humorous as the witnessing of).

Billy Tang continues to roll on in the aftermath of his acclaimed string of very much rightly Category III rated movies back in the first half of the 90s. Chinese Midnight Express sees him team up with a worldwide star in the form of Tony Leung Chiu-Wai ( In The Mood For Love ), Stephen Chow comic sidekick but also award winning dramatic actor Ng Man Tat and further down the cast list, the old Cat III mate Ben Ng. Another driving force behind the film (and also Tang's prior one, Streets Of Fury ) is veteran actor Lee Siu-Kei who co-wrote, acted and executive produced this prison drama. Reporter Chin Ahn (Tony Leung Chiu-Wai) reveals corruption within the police force and when the bribery doesn't work, the police set out to frame him. They plant drugs in his apartment and fearing his family will get hurt, Chin confesses to the crime. His sentence is 3 years in prison and within the prison walls, Chin Ahn is immediately subjected to all sorts of punishment as a newcomer. Meanwhile on the outside, his girlfriend Jess (Pinky Cheung) is now under the control of the cop Ching Yiu Joe (Ben Ng), the one who framed Chin...

powered by FreeFind LOVE ON DELIVERY (1994) A.K.A. - King Of Destruction Reviewed by Andrew Saroch C how Sing Chi scored another big hit with this enjoyable comedy that has a pleasing dose of warm-hearted romance. Once again Ng Man Tat takes on the role of Chow's comic sidekick and plays the familiar character of the very dubious 'friend'. Playing the naive and endearing hero, Chow Sing Chi reverts to one of his most popular type of characters. The strength of such a character is that he is very easy to like and the audience is on his side right until the end. This is where 'Love On Delivery' succeeds. Added to this is a number of very funny scenes in the first part of the film, especially the early interaction between Chow Sing Chi and Ng Man Tat. These entertaining scenes dwindle as the film reaches its final third though and the ending is far too drawn out to compliment the previous hour. Although a very welcome introduction to the cast, Christy Chung isn't always sympathetic and Chow really goes through the wars to win her. This may not be his very best comedy, but it is definitely worthwhile and among his better efforts. Therefore this still has much to commend and is well worth watching.

Plot: An underdog soccer team uses their mastery of the kung fu arts of the Shaolin monks to defeat their opponents and achieve great victory. Reviews VIC NGUYEN'S REVIEW: Cementing Stephen Chow as Hong Kong Cinema's all time box office king (raking in well over $60 million HK in it's hefty run) and nominated for multiple HK Film Awards, Shaolin Soccer is Stephen Chow's finest accomplishment as an actor/director. Note- Cameos include frequent female costars Karen Mok Man-wai and Cecilia Cheung Pak-chi (as male soccer players, no less!) and long-time collaborator Vincent Kok Tat-chiu (as another opposing player). In another related tidbit, co-star Patrick Tse Yin is the real life father of pop idol Nicholas Tse Ting-fung. VIC NGUYEN'S RATING ALEXANDER'S REVIEW: I haven't seen a soccer movie this good since Sylvester Stallone and Pele escaped occupied France in the vastly underrated Victory. Victory features an international cast of actual soccer stars and a post-First Blood Stallone who saves a couple dozen POWs from Nazi imprisonment by his ability to stop penalty kicks fired from the foot of a scowling German striker named Dieter or Max or something. Sure, the soccer-as-metaphor-for-war isn't exactly ground-breaking and the sight of Nazi general Max Von Sydow clapping in slow motion after witnessing Pele's bicycle-kick heroics is pretty cheesy, but with a rousing score and incredible soccer action, Victory is timeless B-movie fun.

Nanfang City Daily, 28 April 2005
King of Beggars
with some inspirations derived from Kungfu Hustle, has just begun production in early April. According to Tin Kai Man (Tian Qi Wen), as they do not own the rights to King of Beggars, they created a brand new drama based on Beggar Su and the folklore surrounding the title of martial arts scholar. He says that Kung Fu Scholar is not merely a martial arts comedy. They wish to tell the audience that as long as one does one's part well, even a small fry can become a scholar.
Produced and written by Tin Kai Man with Stephen Chow as the artistic advisor, the cast is mainly artistes under Stephen Chow's firm, The Star Overseas, most of whom have appeared in either Shaolin Soccer, Kungfu Hustle or both.

However, someone exposes him later, and he loses his status and is reduced to begging. Later, Fatty Chong and Tin Kai Man brings him to train under Yuen Qiu. Once, when he tries to save Yuen Qiu's daughter Jin Sha, Yuen Qiu discovers that he is a very rare martial arts talent. She helps him clear his two major channels Ren and Du, and since then, his martial arts skills improve by leaps and bounds.
